i got that e-mail too. i haven't received a acceptance letter by mail either, but that's only because they just received one thing that was missing a few days ago, so hopefully i will get the packet soon.

i don't think it's fake because gmu sent me my financial aid letter today.

Only thing I see from that e-mail that makes we wonder is the "... for the button that says WHAT?" part.. it should say.. "..for the button that says "CHAT"."

lol i have to write an essay too and its my only homework for tonight...

mine has to be on NATO and our teacer is making us do it for this city contest, where one essay is sent from each high school and then the winner gets to go to Norway. Cool prize, however, I have no interest in the topic and my essay reflects that.

Mines on hydroelectricity, and the pain is that I can say all that needs to be said on the topic in three pages.. but it has to be a five page essay. Sigh.

I guess I don't really know because I had work and didn't get until 8:45ish, but while I was there, nonw of my questions were answered cuz there were so many idiots chatting to each othe about useless stuff that they could have done over P2P. Oh well, I might go to their Preview Day thing on April 17, not sure since gas is so expensive these days :

It was way too croweded, and under-"staffed" for the job.

One counselor in the entire thing.
One mason student per about 25 kids...

Many of the questions were just asked over and over, and the room ended up being filled with mindless 5 y/o's who figured out how to use colors/caps lock/sounds/etc...

I stayed until the very very end (when most of the mason students/other people left) and ending up talking to some nice people who were also looking into GMU.

I asked a couple questions on the greek life and on camppus activity. I was told that the freshman dorms, desipte the "rumors", are actually pretty nice. There is a lot to do on campus aparently, and you tend to find friends easily.

Other than that it was the normal..
Can we drive to the campos in first yeare & keep owr carz?
... also seemed to be a lot of race questions, palistinians asking to meet others of the same culture. It got so repetitive that the counselor actually told them to stop being !racist!. haha

Edit: And yea, I'll be going to their open house on Apr. 17th.. hope to see ya there =P

Yeah, I got accepted way back in December. I decided to apply to Mason because it's only an hour away from where I live. But unfortunately, I'm out of state and I don't know whether it's going to be worth $20,000+ per year to attend a commuter school.

are any of you guys are going up for the preview day tomorrow? and do you think it is worth it, that it isnt just a waste of time talking about stuff that we already know? im asking because i have a piano recital tomorrow as well starting at 4pm and i already told my teacher i would play since this will be my last year, but my mom wants me to go to the preview day at gmu tomorrow thats from 12:00 - 3:30. her idea is for me to go there, then leave around 1 and get back for the recital a little after 4 in time to play (i live about 3 hours away from gmu). but even if i stay for 1.5 hours, i doubt im going to get any helpful info from the open house. so...

Option A: go, stay for 1.5 hours, get back and play in the recital

Option B: go, stay for the whole thing, dont go to the recital

Option C: dont go, just play in the recital

Option D: stay longer, race down like a madwoman to play in the recital (lol ok...this one is not a serious option)

**it's also important to note that my parents want me to go up there to secure my spot cuz my admissions letter never arrived with all the important things to send back...:P
