Congrats on semi-finalist if you got it! I am so proud of yall! I know right now is a tough time with this application and other scholarships and college applications also. Good luck with the application, and if you need any help with the application, send me a private message and I can give you some pointers!

Also, about the state thing; there are 250 scholars! There are 10 regions around the country (kinda odd regions) and each region has 25 scholars! These 25 scholars are divided into 5 National Scholars (20 K) and 20 Regional Scholars (10 K). You get your level designated at the weekend through the interview! by the way, regional went up from 4 K in 2005 to 10 K in 2006! It was an awesome surprise!

I am a scholar from Louisiana and currently goto LSU! I know Louisiana's region covers LA, OK, AR, MO, KS, Iowa, and Kansas. Georgia and Flordia are one. California and Nevada are one. Texas is one. All the other western states are one. I can't remember the northeast, sorry.

Good luck, and if you need help, you guys can always private message me.

I hope to see some of you at the scholars weekend in April! (Alumni are invited and it is definently worth the trip!)

My daughter received an email from the foundation indicating that applicants were having technical problems with uploading forms. According to the email, the foundation has rescinded the uploading requirement.

I am posting in case some of you did not receive the message. Several of the semifinalists were very kind about helping when I asked for help with technical problems. I want to follow their lead.

try calling them again today and see if the recorded message is still the same.... it kind of concerns me that they haven't sent this info out via email... it was a recording that i heard the other day... i'd call but i don't have the number right here where i am

My daughter just called and there was no recording about an extension. When she tried to access information for Semifinalists from the menu options ("Press 2 for..."), she got a recording that she had pressed an "invalid digit."

Same results on three tries.

There was an option for leaving a number and being called back but that didn't work either.

Doesn't seem to be anything new on the website. The 1/12/07 deadline is prominent in the 1/3/07 email and on the website.

I just called 1-800-306-COKE, got a woman's voice saying the office was closed. Then I listened to a man's voice reading me the options and pressed 2 for semifinalist info. After a bit about servers crashing and the elimination of the uploading option, the man said "deadline has been extended to January 18. Please note that this is a received by deadline..."

I'm thinking we should all treat January 12th as our deadline.

Thank you. My daughter tried calling again and this time got through to the man's voice that explains about the server problem and says they are extending the deadline. It sounds as though they plan to send all the semifinalists an email early next week and to post something on the website, confirming the extension.

Thank you for letting people know.

Good luck to all of you on your applications.

i just called and listened to the message again - it still says that the deadline is extended to jan 18 - receipt of material date - so i agree, we should try to get our materials in, but i don't see how they extend it and then pull it in... i think they have to honor jan 18. i planned my schedule according to the new extension date but i will hurry to get it in still this week.

christalena2: If you go to the coca-cola scholars website, go to the Other Info tab at the top and there is a link for finalists and semifinalists

Crap. January 12th. I just wrote all my essays this past weekend! Time for editing! Anyway, I guess I'll have to send it Overnight on Wednesday to ensure it gets there on time. But if we send it overnight express mail, can we still use the envelope they gave us since it's labeled first class? Thanks!

That is BS. I can't have mine done by the 12th; i changed my plans when the message clearly stated AND STILL STATED that they EXTENDED it to the 18th.

I'll try my best to make sure they stick with the 18th; there's no way I can have it done in time. Ugh........... I NEED TO STOP PROCRASTINATING....
