anyone find out about scholarships yet???

or will they come after you fill out the fafsa? j/w because I got into minnesota in the middle of november and havent heard anything, but two other schools I got into in december already told be about merit aid..

I am under the impression that they will not be mailed until March.

i just got a letter saying i received their "presidential scholarship" but that's it so far

Banker got a full ride at Carlson after a month in that thread...I got my acceptance the end of November, so I'm hoping I'll get some merit money soon

It's the day after Christmas.
A thick, heavy manila envelope from UMN is in the mailbox.
Maybe a scholarship to College of Liberal Arts?
NO!
What the ......?
It's a MAGNETIC POETRY KIT. You know, those things where the magnets have words on them and you stick them on the refrigerator to make sentences.
The enclosed letter says its UMN's way of reminding me that a "CLA education is an education that sticks".

Here's mine. Actual magnet words.

Question
What is big idea
I want gold
And pizza

Damn, I am accepted into the institute of technology... I better transfer to CLA so my education will stick better.

Sure, give up your tech career and do liberal arts so you can create magnetic masterpieces like:

mac & cheese/with/Gophers/is/tasty

or

a/squirrel/laughed/at/me/for/wanting/to/study/at/U of M

I got the magnets, too =) Made me happy, haha. Oh, and basically what amounts to a full scholarship =)

Does anyone know when you find out if you recieve any merit scholarships? I was accepted to Carlson in December but havent recieved so much as a whisper concerning any merit money,

The magnets are a cute touch.
No magents for me, I'm an accepted CBS student.

I was also wondering about scholarships. I know a few people who already know they have a full-ride scholarship, but so far, I know nothing.

I was accepted in November.

Yeah I still know nothing as well..I was accepted into Carlson Honors November 20ish

I was getting worried for the last couple weeks, but since nobody else has heard I'm feeling a little bit better

Nick..astar..what are your stats if you don't mind me asking? I'm rather curious.

4.0 unweighted, #1, 30 ACT, Probably average ECs (mainly sports), and in a reciprocity state

you cant get any better than that...you'll probably get some money

Hm..still no mention of honors or scholarships for IT. 4.0 is nice, but the 30 on the ACT is probably going to hurt you a little; just don't expect a full ride..

Notsomuch, I got a full ride with only a 31 on the ACT.

Frankly I'm not sure why, but it can be done. Haha.

when were you notified that you got a full ride?

And I got put on a waitlist with a 32 on the ACT. :-)

Are you in state? What college were you accepted into?

As I noted in the other thread, some applicants have definitely heard about scholarships by now. I think some of those notifications already happened a few weeks ago. More should be coming in the next month or so.
