Anyone gotten interviews?

Someone asked me today if Brown had contacted me for an interview. I'm not sure if that person got one already or something, but do you guys know when do the schools usually start setting up interviews?

I was wondering that too…Did you apply EA/ED hinderpanda? I was wondering if schools wait after the deadline to start interviews or just do them as they come…

I submitted my EA Yale app on Oct. 30, but I haven’t gotten either an Eli account email nor a notification on interviews. In short, nothing :(

@ Fatum: ED. XD
Someone in China applying to Brown got an interview already. But I searched up CC, and turns out (at least for Brown), EVERYONE gets interviews, and the timing only depends on how fast the volunteer alums act, so we don’t need to worry. XD

Found a Columbia interview offer email in my spam today! It has been sitting there for three days!! Kind a excited and nervous…

^ LOL glad you found it before it was deleted. ;D
Good luck!!!

Any news from Early Action applicants to yale?

@hinderpanda: Thanks! Will let you guys know how it went.

I’m getting a Penn interview in a week

^ Good luck!!

Had my Penn interview today - it was almost two and a half hours long!!

That is so exciting!!! How did it go? What did you talk about?

Yes it is!! Well, like I said, it was long. We talked about lots of stuff. When I first got there I was really nervous, we were both a bit early so it was kind of awkward because I could tell who he probably was but wasn’t sure. But we made eye contact and then I was like Mr. ___? and he nodded and it was glorious!

But yeah, I got an iced capp (it was at Tim Hortons lol - I thought this was funny because so many people say they got interviews at Starbucks but I got the Canadian-ish version). We started by talking about why I want to go to Wharton specifically and then Penn. I had a lot of reasons lined up but we got sidetracked at some point. He told me about the competitiveness at Penn but how it’s not malicious (like students help each other out when need be etc). He asked me about my activities. We talked about Donald Trump, music, George Bush, the Ivy League, theoretical physics, Malcolm Gladwell, and lots of other stuff - as well as me of course. But I seriously felt like he and I talked 50/50. I hope that’s a good thing though! I stressed my interest in math and Penn too. After a while I lost my nervousness and really started enjoying the conversation…

Overall, i think it will help me (or at least not hurt me!). What do you guys think about the 2.5 hours? Good or bad?

^2.5 is really good. I heard most are 30min to an hour.

If it’s as long as 2.5 hours obviously your interviewer found you interesting and worthwhile to spend that time. Good job!

nicee itsinreach!
I still didn’t finish my app yet…=</p>

Guys, I had my Columbia interview yesterday. A lady in her mid-late twenties showed up and we chatted for a little over an hour. She studied law at C. (Even though I am a science freak, I am taking law this semester and find law very very interesting.)

She began with introducing herself, asked me what I was doing these days. I told her my background here as well, which she found exceptional. After that, she asked what I want to study at Columbia, to which I gave a lengthy answer - I asked some quesions too. And then, we talked about law.

She often replied, “very interesting!” and, we laughed quite a bit throughout the interview. It was quite easy. I had a good time and I believe she did too.

Do ALL schools (I’m talking about Ivies and top tiers) offer interviews to applicants? Or do some only contact the applicant if they are interested? Thank you.

I just had a phone interview with an alum from Brown today…it was REALLYYY short. The guy was busy and he said that it was more for him to sell Brown than an actual interview interview. So we left it at like 20 (?) minutes ish. (I wasn’t looking at the clock so I’m not sure, but def. less than 1/2 hr.)

what kind of questions did he ask u? i’m curious because i’m also applying to brown this year! :D
