Anyone heard from CSUs?

I recently received my acceptance letter to CSU Fresno and I am wondering what I should do about this. It says that my class level is a senior. I’m transferring from a community college, so I thought I’d be a junior…

@Caldud- It doesn’t matter where you transfer from, it depends on the number of units. You must be transferring with over 90 units to be considered a senior standing transfer.

Has anyone heard of transfers getting into impacted majors at CSULB yet? I’m waiting on liberal studies. :</p>

Cal Poly SLO
Political Science
GPA: 3.85

rejected

I was always an aggie anyway

This might be off topic, but I got accepted to SF a month ago and I had been contemplating paying $55 to fill out the Housing Application until recently when I went on Facebook to see they’re housing page. I read that the initial payment for the license agreement is $1,400! $1,400!!! on top of the $55 for the application
My sister told me that she paid $300 for her dorm agreement at UCR.
Is this because of location or is housing is the same for all CSU’s? That is ridiculous.

logged in to SDSU webportal and I was denied admission with a 3.7 GPA?! I’m a transfer student from San Diego, Comm major. Was it due to my major? Waiting to hear back from UCSD.

CSU’s don’t do TAG that’s only in the UC system. I went to a local SD CC and didn’t get accepted to SDSU.

Yes SDSU has a TAG for local area applicants

<a href=“Transfer Students | SDSU”>Transfer Students | SDSU;

don’t even let it faze you guys. UC>CSU

3.7’s getting denied in Diego?? geeez

Should have applied to San Marcos.

Thats crazy though! Hope y’all get into other schools.

@LAladyy My CC only offer TAG for UCSD. I looked at the CC they listed and mine was not on there so it made sense as to why I couldn’t do it. I attended MiraCosta which is North County but I thought for sure it would still be considered "local’ I mean it’s still San Diego. I did apply for UCSD TAG and I got accepted to Cal State San Marcos if all fails.

Ok so I think I figured some factors that contributed to my SDSU rejection despite having a high GPA. My CC (MiraCosta college) that I was transferring from (which is in north county San Diego) is not considered an SDSU “local admission area.” Also, it says that Students transferring from Palomar or MiraCosta CC and apply for programs that are not available at CSU San Marcos will also have the first admission priority. And well my major is available at CSU San Marcos. Wish I would have known this before I applied and saved myself time and money. CC counselors #FAIL

Business Administration, 3.7 GPA.

Cal Poly SLO - rejected. Ohwell

@SD aww that sucks but you tagged to UCSD which is a much better school so be happy! :)

@rdpurplehaze Rofl i got wait listed with the same stats! their admission office is crazy

@ieatsharks seriously though lol.

yea counselors are idiots. They don’t know everything. I had one tell me I couldn’t take a class that I needed to transfer because I was enrolled in the the pre-req. I asked if I can take both at the same time since every school I was going to finish up at let me take both. She said no.

Finds out I got a guy in my class taking it. He said he wrote a letter to the dean so he could take both classes at the same time. Wish I would have known that!

I got into Fullerton in November and Fresno/Northridge a few weeks ago.

@Lookin4ward, Couneslors are tards. Their job is basically be done by assist.org , etc. When i went to visit my counselor, all she gave me were a bunch of websites too look at … Not only are they wrong most of the time, they don’t really offer any “good” results. Has anyone have a good counseling experience?

A few months ago I spoke to a younger woman who was a “counselor” and she told me that units from a class I received a D grade in would not transfer. I had to find out on collegeconfidential that the units actually would transfer.

And a few weeks ago I made an appointment to speak with a FULL TIME COUNSELORR. Her name was susan starr and the first thing she told me while looking over my transcripts was “don’t worry, that D grade won’t count as credit but the units will still transfer!” But the main reason I was talking to her was to sign up for the graduation ceremony at my school and she actually took the time to help me out and look over everything with me. She discovered that I could get two Associate degrees instead of one. Plus partial IGETC certification. So when I walk with my class in May I’m getting like 3 things, 2 degrees and a certificate, instead of one. She’s so awesomee!! I feel bad for future students when she retires :(
