Anyone heard from CSUs?

Ha yeah I’m with you. I have 0EFC so I had fee waivers for the applications and did them on a whim. Accepted CSUF-Bus, SDSU-Bus, CSULB-Finance… Wait Listed CPSLO-Bus. FREAKY!! ;)

@UCKittychen I got rejected from SDSU as well? But I was accepted to Cal Poly SLO how does that happen?! Ahaha

i got rejected from sdsu.
3.47gpa compsci! missing one prereq from sdsu

I don’t know about your majors, but back when I had a different one, SDSU had really different major requirements for transfers than the other schools. Is it possible that you guys just didn’t fulfill theirs but you did for the other schools? They all look at those things a lot more closely now.

Rejected from SDSU. Sociology major 3.7 gpa.
Shocked to say the least.
Its even worse because I applied when I was in high school and got rejected then too.
Whyyyy?

Thanks for the support and stuff guys. Screw sdsu uc awaits us

Wow I can’t believe how many people SDSU is rejecting. You all seem pretty competitive for admission! I got in, but I think that may be because I applied as a Women’s Studies major, which I can’t change, so I guess I probably won’t be going there since I’m a Geography major now.

@ChellyTho what were ur cal poly grade stats!?!?!?

I didn’t apply to any CSUs but I was told by my counselor, who is actually legit, that SDSU is extremely hard to get into if you do not go to a CC within their service area because they do TAG program with those schools. So don’t take the rejections personally!! Other acceptances await :)

Yeah a couple of my friends with lower GPA’s did the TAG agreement. I didn’t but I’m a philosophy major and had my prereqs finished + a decent GPA + I’m local.

@ieatsharks 3.5 GPA Major Philosophy. A little average but I think my major made it less competitive for me to get in.

Still shocked about SDSU but I understandable that they are catering more to the local students. I’m from Sacramento, I guess location wise didn’t work out for me aha.

That’s so weird to hear about SDSU, guys. I got in with under 3 GPA and am from San Francisco.

Sent from my Triumph using CC

Apparently a lot of people from my school (even people with good GPA) got denied yesterday from SDSU. I noticed that most of them were missing like 1 or 2 classes from their pre-reqs, so im guessing thats the most logical reason why even people with good GPA get denied. It looks like SDSU is getting anally retentive as SLO when it comes to pre-reqs. Also my school in San Diego.

screw SDSU! i’m glad i didn’t apply there. that school is for ******ebagsssss

Got denied from SJSU. Ohh well!

Hey guys I will tell you this and its fact. CSU’s are concerned with your service area. SDSU is especially hard out of the service area because it is gaining in popularity every year. There are so many of you who have amazing GPA’s that I couldn’t hold a candle to. Don’t get down on yourself if you didnt get into a CSU out of your area with a high GPA. Now when the UC’s start turning you down with a 3.8 and higher than I say its time to start rioting.

I got into SDSU but not San Marcos and SFSU want me to submit transcripts verifying my GPA before they offer me admission. Just got that email 5 minutes ago

Oh yeah and as far as pre reqs. if your GE or IGETC isn’t complete its a no go. I also wouldnt miss to many Major Preps either.

^ @nsws 1631
Does SDSU have the same policy of strongly favoring applicants from its service area in regards to admission to its graduate programs as they towards freshmen and undergraduate transfer applicants? Would an applicant from Northern California be for all practical purposes excluded from graduate programs at SDSU or are graduate admissions opportunities generally equally available to applicants from all of California?

As far as I know Grad school admission is separate from Undergrad. Usually Graduate programs at Universities consider themselves separate entities and I dont think they are bound by the same stipulations as undergrad since there’s no such thing as TAG or these other guarantee programs for Grad school. I would get in touch with ur specific program to find out more.

^ nsws1631, thanks for the information and the quick response.
