Sorry efs.

Now that we know rejections have been mailed, I shall wait patiently for mine.

dump.........

good, those mid-terms are killing me.... i meant bump

Well, if what efs said is right... then I should be getting my rejection today... I'm near enough that if they were sent out Friday, they'd be here today.

I just have to sit my Formal Logic final first.

I'll come back with whether or not it's here in a few hours.

i live in ct...45 min from new haven

the letter was postmarked on the 7th

i was pretty upset at first and then went into a fury trying to figure out how to get the decision overturned

i've since gotten over it (pretty much) and am trying to get myself excited for uva or georgetown (if i get in!)

what do you think about sendign in extra materials (recs, writing sample, this semester's transcript--got a 4.0)? i know that's pretty much only done when you get deffered, but i figure it's at least a shot

Hmm... still hasn't come... of course I'm not sure whether it's coming here to school or to my home address. The application said over and over they were sending them home, but a friend of mine called them and they told HIM they'll be sent to the school address... arrrgh. I want closure already!

anisky, i could not agree with you more. I go to school in chicago, but my home is in new jersey. That makes a big difference in the time snail mail takes.

mine came to my home

efs, do you have a mailing address different from your home one?

perhaps a better question to ask is whether anyone who lives in ct, or in ny/ma has received an acceptance letter... some schools stagger the letters by acceptance and rejections. Georgetown did this by schools (ie they sent out cas and msb letters, but not sfs).

Anyone who had gotten one would have said so by now.

I'll ask if any of my friends have gotten anything here (MA), school address, but I may not see them for a while.

phoniex2008,

I do not think Georgetown "staggers" the letters. They send them out in the order in which they are reviewed; this is according to a conversation I had with the Asst. Admissions Director.

nspeds,
I will defer to you on this one, because of your conversation. However, just from looking at the cc board's no one from sfs has gotten letters (I am in that boat), while alot of MSB people have gotten their decesions. That is the only reason, that I made the comment I did.
If it is how they are reviewed, in that it is one school, and then another, then that would still indicate to me some staggering in how the process is occuring.

I can see how the data would lead one to think that way; however, do not take my word for it, I only think they do not stagger, but you could be right:)

I got my rejection today, was sent to my home address.

anisky, sorry man. Where do you live? Where else are you looking? I think I recall you say you were thinking about the UofC.

I live in Philadelphia.

Don't know about where I'm considering. Haven't gotten a financial aid packet from University of Chicago, can't decide anything until I have that. Of course, they may not send it to me until the deadlines for the other schools I'm considering has PASSED, so basically I'll be ****ed.

I GOT IN!!!! im so incredibly excited! its my top choice school, and they gave me 25 grand in GRANTS! good luck to everyone who didnt make it, im sure u guys will catch on elsewhere, esp. anisky with UChicago!

Congratulations. What exciting news.
