wow sounds like the reps at chapman don’t know what they’re talking about because when i called them they said that the order they review applications is random. just like how imprez found out really early that he got in even though i applied 3 weeks earlier than him.

i wish they would make decisions already!

It’s easy to get mixed messages when you call admissions. Sometimes you get a student, sometimes you get someone who actually knows the process. I’m pretty sure there’s some method to their madness, but who knows what it is.

What’s weird is I ran into another girl in class that applied for spring and she received her decision too–she was waitlisted, and they told her at the moment they may not have room (depending on who exercises their approved admission). Interesting they “don’t have room,” when they haven’t gotten to some of the earlier app submissions. She had good stats too. Better than mine for sure.

Another long week of waiting…Here we go

imprez, that’s so weird your classmate was waitlisted. You would think there would be some order to the admission procedure madness, but like you said, “who knows?” Do you know what her major was? That’s the only thing I could think might be the cause.

JC, I was thinking the same thing… I know a man once who died waiting to find out if he got into Chapman; the anxiety killed him. No joke. Well, actually, it was a joke, but still the waiting is a slow agonizing murder.

hahahaha I was seriously believing that until that last sentence like “Dude he died?! Holy s*** I thought I had bad anxiety”

You guys are gonna love it here.

I am a transfer – Screenwriting/Art History/University Honors major, so if you have questions about those three departments, I can answer them, if its somewhere else, I can get you answers.

Everyone really got me through the transfer process on here last year so I though I would like to return a favor. Sort of pay-it-forward…as it were.

Namaste, (and good luck)
It’s the coolest film school in the country… to me anyway. And you eat swell.

Greg

Hey Greg,

When are we going to hear back? The deadline was Nov. 1st

Anybody hear anything?..Anything at all?..Im desperate for news.

I finally received my financial aid package, and glad to know that I can NOW send in my admissions acceptance! $27,500 from Chapman plus they say they’ll fork over about 6k in loans if I want em. Looks like I’ll be makin a move here in about 3.5 weeks! Can’t wait to hear some news from anyone else.

LMU says 4 to 6 weeks on their website…Its been 9!

I applied for spring transfer and my webadvisor login changed yesterday from decision pending to admission approved, so does that mean i got in? it says that no admissions decisions will be given out online, but ‘admission approved’ seems pretty clear to me.

also, for those of you who were admitted how long did it take for you to get your financial aid award after you found out you got in?

sfm, pretty much… congrats! i got my finaid/whole packet a few dates later.

i just got a prowl account too from lmu…does this mean admitted? or… is this just protocol?

SFM your in! I remember people talking about this before, and yes, it means your in. Awesome! Maybe this means they are starting to decide. What is your major/stats.

HelloKitty I’m not sure, what is a prowl account?

sfm, congratz!!!

hellokitty, I’m not sure about the prowl account thing. I applied in the fall and I didn’t get one… I apply in the spring and get one. I haven’t heard anything from LMU, last time i checked (i think on thursday) a decision had still not been made.

JC, a prowl account allows you to login and see your financial info and stuff like that. I got my ID# in an email from LMU Finaid. I got mine 11/25/09

Awesome! Right now I’m a sophomore communications major at NYU and I applied to Dodge for Creative Producing. I have a 3.65 GPA but by the end of this semester I should have closer to a 3.8.
Now, I just need to get the packet/financial aid info in the mail so that I can make my decision!

Also, I applied right before the deadline on Oct. 31st so you guys should probably be hearing back soon. :)

I know I’m being a bit paranoid here but my status changed from Decision Pending to Admission Approved on 12/02 for a Spring 2010 transfer. I’m seeing in a lot of places that it means you are accepted but my Chapman admission counselor says it means that an admission decision was made and that I would know when the mail arrived. I don’t want to celebrate without knowing for sure, so is it 100% confirmed that when it changes to Admission Approved that you are in? And if you’re not, does it change to Decision Complete?

Thanks!

%110 sure that it means you got in. I remeber talking specificly about this last semester on here, and cousilors were telling students the same thing. Google “what does admissions approved mean chapman university”. Last year, when I wasn’t accepted, it changed to decision complete. In fact it is still listed on my webadvisor.

BFA in Film Production

03/02/09

Decision Complete

07/22/09

Go celebrate!..

I didn’t get a ******* account LMU is toying with me I think.

what the? it bleeped out p-r-o-w-l-e-r

hahah why?

hahahahah p r o wler must be a derogatory term. funny. but thanks for the clarification you two…
i developed a peptic ulcer over the course of the fall semester. pins and needles waiting for their decision…
