Anyone looking to transfer this SPRING 2010?

It does mean you got in! I just got my package—thanks so much! :)

sweeet! Are you a film production major?

Congrats! Was your financial aid stuff included in the packet?
I’m still waiting for my packet. :frowning: but I live in Virginia so mail takes a bit longer to reach me.

I didn’t get my financial aid package but they did give me a merit scholarship! I’m a screenwriting major—what are you guys going to do for housing and such?

BFA in Film Production

11/01/09

Decision Complete

12/11/09

2010 Spring-CHAPMAN Univ

That means I didn’t get in :frowning: oh well, at least they didn’t make me wait months and months to reject me this time lol. Good luck to everybody else! Unless something happends with LMU (and even if something does), I’ll probably be going to CSU Northridge for film. Hopefully I will get a chance to work with some of you in the future.

:)

@realityendshere If i decide to transfer I’m gonna try to live in a dorm, at least for the first semester because it’s easier to meet people. do you know yet what you’re gonna do?

jcarroll- if you don’t receive anything through the mail today, I would call admissions monday morn and just ask them. If you make it sound somewhat urgent, they will give you an official decision over the phone (if one has been made). Good luck.

sfm or reality, have either of you been able to access the housing application yet?

Nope, which I thought was kinda weird.

I haven’t made any decisions about housing yet—I haven’t tried to access the housing application but then again it doesn’t even show me my financial aid letter. I think I’d prefer to live in an apartment even though I might not have as many opportunities to meet people. My experience with dorm living this semester has not been pleasant and I’m not much of a social person anyway. I figure if I rented a place where most students stay it would be okay. I just have to find a place and a person to rent with. Which college are you guys transferring/thinking of transferring from?

I know what you mean about living in a dorm. I’m not really all that social either, so it’s definitely not my first choice, but I’m from the east coast and don’t know anyone yet so it looks like I’m going to be in a dorm for at least my first semester.
I go to NYU right now but I’m not in Tisch, and I’ll probably be transferring into Dodge for creative producing. What about you?

On a whole different topic, do most people bring their cars to Chapman? I really want to intern in the LA area, but I feel like that would be really difficult if I didn’t bring a car with me.

I used to live in Glendale, CA when I was eight and then we made the mistake of moving away. I’ve always loved California and am so excited to come back! I just finished my first (and thankfully last) semester at Univeristy of Georgia in Athens. I was a film studies major because UGA doesn’t have a screenwriting program, which is what I’ll be majoring in at Dodge. I won’t know anybody there either so it will be quite an adventure.

As for the car question—I heard/read that you don’t need one and there’s a train that goes from Orange to L.A.

I know it’s on the 29th, but I’m not sure what it entails, what time etc. I’m pretty sure since it’s a spring orientation, it’s going to be pretty small. Who’s going??

wow, i just got admission approved today… less than 2 weeks before spring semester actually starts. does anyone know if orientation is mandatory? i feel so rushed… i still haven’t even recieved my fin aid packet or anything else for that matter. does anyone know if classes are even open!?

or when registration is? thanks.
