Congratulations to all of you! You’re all impressive and I wish you the best of luck.
I was accepted EA (with honors & scholarship) and never heard a peep from the admissions office before December 15. That said, I did get a really nice phone call from a girl in my intended major where she discussed all the opportunities that would be available to me; that would have been about a month ago.
"As part of my work with the admissions committee, I was fortunate to see your application. Your achievements speak for themselves; but more than that, your hard work and personal traits reflect the kind of student that thrives at Northeastern. Thank you again for your application and interest—I wish you the best of luck with your candidacy.
My child’s stats are similar. However, we have a different take on this email. We think its a polite “Sorry- don’t be discouraged when we don’t accept you. Be encouraged that your stats will get you in somewhere else”.
Again it appears that applicants with superior stats and EC’s received these emails. My guess is that decisions will be coming out this week, most likely Tuesday, based on the last couple of years.
@kristi4806 My S heard absolutely nothing from the AO, not a single word.
Decision day came … not only did he get in, he got in as University Scholar! Less than 1/2 percent of the kids who apply are admitted as Scholars … imagine our surprise as he read his acceptance letter <:-P
@TomSrOfBoston you mean it is likely that they will send out decisions for everyone this week or just the ones with scholarships/huge grants? If i got the email does that mean there is a chance ill get a reply this week ?
Based on the last couple of years decisions for top applicants may be coming out in this week or next. Decisions for the rest would come out in mid March. Again based on past years if you got the email there is a good chance that you will receive a decision sooner rather than later.
31 ACT and 3.86 Unweighted. Received the “possess qualities” a two days ago. I seem like an outlier compared to everybody else that got the email. Hopefully that is a good thing.
@swimfast11 - hey, your stats are basically identical to what mine were when I applied! (IB, GPA, ACT) Clearly it’s a sign, right? I had an awesome 5 years at Northeastern.
