Anyone wishing a republican president was in??

I said in my previous post what I consider the important issues (the economy and foreign policy). Both parties support intervention in both cases. Bush, Paulson and Bernanke all favored the bailout of the banks and the auto companies, which is corporate welfare. What aren't you outraged about this welfare as well?

OP you are clearly an uneducated, greedy, and racist conservative. I didn't know internet access was available on your hillbilly farm.

America's economy will be as socialist as Europe in 50 years. We as a country are getting more intelligent and progressive. Yes there is a correlation between the two.

sidenote: ethnically Mitt isn't Mexican his past generations just sought refuge in northern Mexico
Thats funny...hillbilly farm lol :)

OP how can you be so racist? don't you remember this show?...

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air

In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys
Who were up to no good
Startin making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my suite case and send me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket.
I put my walkman on and said, 'I might as well kick it'.

First class, yo this is bad
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass.
Is this what the people of Bel-Air Living like?
Hmmmmm this might be alright.

But wait I hear there're prissy, wine all that
Is Bel-Air the type of place they send this cool cat?
I don't think sow
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air

Well, the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightening, disappeared

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I can say this cab is rare
But I thought 'Now forget it' - 'Yo homes to Bel Air'

I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

KNOW YOUR FACTS...

You said ….

The only thing good about Obama is pro-choice and limiting the spending on the war...
YOU don't like him because...

1) Welfare is stupid...
What do you really know about welfare? The average welfare receipt has to work 40+ hours a week just to qualify. The only people who don’t are required to attend what is known as a work-first program that prepares individuals who would like some type of state assistance to successfully get and keep jobs. (I know because I RESEARCHED and debated the issue in my 2nd year of college)

Even if there were not qualifications for welfare programs I would much prefer the $10,000,000,000 (that's $10 billion dollars) our "REPUBLICIAN" president has been sending to IRAQ the last few years be spent on welfare issues in America, a portion go to helping other countries in need, AND PROVIDING MORE MONEY GRANT FUNDING FOR COLLEGE
EDUCATIONS.

2) Closing Guantanamo Bay - Is this a joke?? ...
Sorry to tell you, but some of the most dangerous people in the world are/were American. That's why so many countries hate America (At least in the last 8 years). Again, you might want to do a little world history research. In the process, research whether or not our last "Republican" president found those weapons of mass destruction.

Most of the people who are released go back and rejoin Al-Qaeda....

No research done...lol

Majority of the Al-Qaeda supporters live, own, and successfully run businesses and the USA. You can’t be mad at them when our last "republican" president allowed a welfare program to exist that gives aliens MORE welfare funding than Americans that have worked hard, literally were or still slaves in the USA. African American’s weren’t the only slave and there are many forms of slavery that still exist. I know way, shape, or form support any other group that kills innocent people. Just understand that they were able to support Al-Qaeda’s because they had extra money to send to their countries because they didn’t have the same expenses that most Americans have.

Plus, it is not fair to assume that all of the prisoners that were in Guantanamo Bay came from 1 specific region in the world.

3) Black Reparation money - are you serious?????? Really a bad idea... if this goes through the KKK will be getting PLENTY of new members...

Were you really serious when you posted this comment?... I refuse to even respond to this comment because I joined this site to help students like you and other people (black, white, Asian, Arabic, young, old… whatever).... get motivated and prepared to go to college. I just could not ignore your post because you don’t even understand the topics you mentioned. Just do your homework in the future.

We a privileged to have internet access, computers, electricity to even communicate through this website. Before you continue to make that kind of post spend more time figuring out what it means to be a true citizen of The United States Of America and what you can do to contribute to our country being a better place.

Every Republican isn't like Bush, but before you down Obama who is fighting for change on issues of equality, fairness, better schooling, health care for people (like his mother) who are dying or died because after working 40-72 hours a week still could not afford medical or prescription coverage.

Learn to look deeper into situations. African American reparation is based on the time frame from 1619 – 1865, the legal status of people of African descent was property (i.e., Massachusetts Body of Liberties-1641; Belt v. Dalby-1786; Fugitive Slave Act-1850; Dred Scott Decision-1857), a status legitimized by all levels of government.

“Again, African American Reparations is not about simple dissemination that, yes, all immigrants face. It is about the countless laws passed at all levels of government (local, state, federal) that in effect institutionalized the dehumanization and disfranchisement of black people. No law was passed against the Irish from practicing their own culture. No law was passed to prevent the Irish from learning to read and write English. For 246 years, this was the case for people of African descent in the United States, laws that often carried the death penalty. During a brief period 1865 – 1876, blacks received full protection as citizens under the law. However, in short order, the federal government again institutionalized and thus sanctioned the dehumanizing and disfranchisement of African Americans (i.e. R. B. Hayes deal-1878; Jim Crow laws; Plessy vs. Ferguson-1896). "

(African American Reparation)

If you would like to more information about any of these issues I don’t mind you posting back or emailing me (dreamyourreality.yahoo.com). It’s a great thing to be able to comfortably express your thoughts and feelings. However, in the future before you make such strong comments about politics, particular groups of people, cultures, race or any ethnic/diversity topics DO YOU HOMEWORK FIRST.

-dream_network

People need to stop freaking about this Guantamano Bay thing. These terrorists are going to be transferred to maximum security prisons, it's not like they're going to show up at your local jail. If federal prison is good enough for Charles Manson I'm sure it's good enough for the guys at Guantamano bay.

Now that you've acknowledged his racism, you're throwing more useless insults at him? I live on a farm, and am pretty sure that I'm in no way a hillbilly.

If America was getting more intelligent and progressive, it'd revert back to Reagan-style economics. Are you saying more restriction and government intervention (socialism) is progressive?

Progressive = policies favoring the lower classes
Regressive = policies favoring upper classes

Reagan was much more the latter.

iono about that but...

Education is a way out, and not all high school education is needed to be created equal, but rather you do the best with what you can. Why is it that my grandparents came to America with pretty much nothing and were able to rise up and live decent lives? The drive to succeed can be pretty powerful

Read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. In fact, homework: everyone read Outliers. It'll change the way you think about success and by extension, government programs geared to help people become successful.

juliushark,

Your fresh prince post was cute and funny!!!!

I don't get why Guantanamo Bay is being closed. Do people really want terrorists to roam in Maximum security? They are TERRORISTS for god's sake. They KILL people ( at least for the most part)

^lol @ fanaticism. You'd make for a great preacher.

Obama and McCain were both duds. I wish we had a real alternative. After Obama's ridiculous inauguration boo-bop, our future seems to be getting dimmer and I'm disappointed in his priorities. With our nation's economy continuing to sink, students in desparate financial need, and our nation sinking deeper into debt, one of Obama's first acts as President was to screw America by deciding to send our hard-earned money to support foreign abortions. Does Obama really think those foreign abortions are more justified as a higher priority than American student aid?

I have always been an Obama supporter and have followed him and his campaign very closely from the begining of his campaign up to his early presidency now. Although, that is not to say that I have not been disappointed along the way, but I do very truthfully believe that he is a lot better than McCain or any Republican leader for the country (and the world) as it is NOW. However, even though he represents hope and arouses many passionate emotions in people across the globe and from all spans of life, it is still important to remember that he is a politicain after all, as I have now realized on his painful appointment for the pastor who strongly apposes gay rights to speak on his annaguration. So I think one should have a balanced perspective when analyzing Obama, because he is neither as great or as lowly as most perceive him to be.

what fanaticism? it's the truth

Substitute TERRORISTS with ATHEISTS and you'd be the perfect bible thumper.

abercrombieindy, You're right, some are terrorists. But not all. But we wouldn't know that now would we? Because they weren't given TRIALS.

We are a great country because we stick to our principals, even in a time of great uncertainty. At least, we used to be. The fact is, torture is not allowed and you cannot arrest any one you please and throw them into a secret jail in a foreign country without a trial.

And what's wrong with them roaming in a Max Security prison? That's where we send mass-murders for life. The only difference between MaxSec and Gitmo is that you can't torture and they're given a trial. Both of which we're legally bound to do (or not do I suppose in the case of torture).

If you want to go to a country where you can be imprisoned on a whim and held without a trial, please leave. Trust me, you won't hurt anybody's feelings by leaving. But I prefer to live in a country where people are given a trial, not just people that we like. And where people are not tortured, because that torture is a slippery slope. What's next? Torturing people from America who they believe to have terrorist ties, even if there's no proof.

The national security of America will be at a much greater risk if we don't extract information out of them. i just don't see how people would agree to paying for a terrorist in prison. Yes trials are necessary for some instances but i rest a sure you that "talking" out our feelings and wasting time with long trials is gonna hurt us in the end. These people don't wanna negotiate, they want to create drama. We lose important information, take up space in prison, and risk another terrorist attack by closing GitMo

Yes some athiests and christians are crazy but don't generalize me because i have conservative views.... sorry for NOT be a liberal:(
