I'm taking it again in December, and I'm thinking I have a shot at a 30, but I'll have to apply before then. Should I apply to the college of business? I mainly just really want to go to UIUC, I don't have any huge desire for business, I just thought it would be a good major. If I get rejected from business will they consider me for any other program with lower standards or am I just out?

You never know till you apply. You will be fine, chill out!
Oh, and I applied EA to UIUC am am waiting for decision too!
check me out–>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/india/1413655-how-do-i-look-collegeville.html
Thread’s closed, but tell me if I stand a chance(I hope I do!)

Well, I got into ChemE, which is harder than buisness, and I got a 28. If you have a good math score then you should be OK. Depends on your other stats, not just ACT, which is a travesty to use as a measure of any sort. Here is my info, probably borderline for acceptance http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-illinois-urbana-champaign/1214064-uiversity-illinois-chemical-engineering-chances.html And yes, they will consider you for DGS no matter what I believe if you don’t get into business.

Also, write at least one amazing essay. I wrote one on my Rube Goldberg, which I joined the club here, and they featured one about the black walnut tree in the magazine last year. Do something unique.

If you are rejected by business, you will be considered for admission to the Division of General Studies. As a result, if you apply to business you face no real greater chance of being rejected by UIUC than any other applicant that applies only to DGS. A 27 is low for business but I have different concern. If you don’t have any real desire for applying for business then why even apply for it?

“If you don’t have any real desire for applying for business then why even apply for it?”

Because I have no big desire for anything else either so why not go where the money is? Also, I know a 27 is low but I think I have a shot at a 30 considering I got a 27 my very first time and my second time I got sick right before I went and got a 26.
Anyway, I didn’t realize that about DGS so thanks for the input everyone.

Do you know when is the EA decision coming out??? I am waiting too…

mid december I guess. I am soo excited!

Friday December 14th at 5pm CST you should be able to review your admissions decision, if your application was complete by the priority deadline. Once decisions begin entering the system, as they will be shortly, if they haven’t started entering them already, the application status page has certain information on it hidden programmatically. This allows admissions to enter decisions for individual applicants over a short time period before the status check program allows those decisions to be seen as of 5pm CST on the 14th. That’s how it has been handled in the past at least.
