I can't find the form on the ucsc page that have the ap credits.. but i got a 4 on the ap bio test and i remember it said i would get 8 credits... for a blank class.. and then if u got a 5 you were exempt from taking a bio class... so does a 4 mean nothing then? :(

No, like you said, it means you now have 8 credits. TRUST ME, coming into college with credits is a huge advantage in the long-run because it means you get to choose classes earlier than people without those extra “transfer” units.

Unless you’re planning on majoring in biology, it SHOULD also mean that you satisfied some sort of general education requirement. If you are majoring in biology however, then you’re going to have to take other bio classes anyway.

This page says you satisfied Biology 3, which I’m assuming is a GE course? (replace the xx with tt)

thannks rectangleshorts but for ap psych test i only get 4 units in the PE-H section in the GE requirements… and i need 5 credits to complete the PE-H req… so is my ap pysch test virtually useless then …

In that case, I’m sorry, but I don’t know. I was on a completely different general ed system that they stopped using after fall 2010.

I’d say check in your myucsc portal. If your AP scores have already been sent and posted, it should tell you whether or not you satisfied the requirement. BUT it probably wasn’t completely useless, because I also took the AP psych test and got 4 units, and it ended up counting as one course, even if they require 5 units. I think the 5 units thing is just for classes you actually take at UCSC. Transfer credits (which is what AP credits are) apply differently. In all likelihood, you satisfied the PE-H requirement.

I’d still have hope if I were you! Plus, like I said, you now have 4 extra credits that someone else may not have and could get you an earlier sign up time when it comes to picking classes for winter or spring.

Hey just wondering if anyone has had this problem. I called ucsc admissions a while back because i was surprised they needed my official ap scores since they are on my community college transcript. Lady told me that doesn’t matter if i send them in i just wont get credit. Since i took most of the classes again anyway i didnt really care. Well went to hand carry my transcripts and they told me ill probably get withdrawn ***!!! So today being the 11th i ordered a rush ap score thing but it probably wont arrive till the 16th or 17 the 15th being the deadline. Anyone ever have this issue?!?!?! So dumb of me and the admission lady for telling me that. Thanks for the imput
