AP English Language Exam Thread

I have no idea how I did

It’s hard to guage my performance on MC English…

I guess synthesis and argument essays were okay, but I have no idea how I did on the second…basically BSed all three essays

Wow, I’m pretty sure I dominated that test.

today’s test was the easiest MC I’ve ever taken, and the essays had really interesting prompts

hopefully a 5 :)

^ i actually thought the third prompt was boring and too SAT-ish
i didn’t really lend itself to being creative with the quote…

^ Agreed! But I had so many examples to use that it took me so long to organize them. :P

I hope these questions don’t sound too silly…
But, if I deeply analyzed three sources for synthesis, is that still okay? My teachers always emphasized that’s it’s nothing like the DBQ, so sticking in all the sources isn’t preferable, but I keep coming across posts where people used most/all of the sources.
Also, would an essay that seems like a 7 be relegated to a 6 simply because the conclusion was a cheesy one-sentence closing?

I was really afraid that this test would screw me over. But nope, both the multiple choice and the essays were tres facile! Yay! party

Onto studying WHAP!

Could you please give me input on what I should do about my AP English dilmena? I posted a new thread in this sub-forum. Thanks. :/

easiest MC ever on ap lang test lol

How long on average do you think your essays should be. Mine were two pages on average

mine were 3/3/4 pages, with pretty big handwriting though

quality not quantity ya dig. my synthesis was 3 and a half rhetorical was 2 and a half and argumentative was 2 (i have decently large handwriting as well).

i honestly hated the essay topics, i think i did alright but everything was such a stretch. the MC was ridiculously easy as said.

2.5/1.5/2 pages long for me. I write kinda small and sloppy though

That was so easy! I feel ridiculously confident. MC was great - I only skipped one because I couldn’t decide among three answers. FRQ - my synthesis essay was genuinely fantastic, the rhetorical analysis was also good (the prompt made me laugh a lot), but the argumentative wasn’t that great. The prompt didn’t seem like it had much that you could actually agree/disagree/qualify, so I mostly just gave examples. My first two essays were 3 pages, the last was 2.5.

I thought the test went well, overall. MC were great, I went through them three times and still have 10ish minutes for a quick powernap. Didn’t care for the last essay. As someone else mentioned, it felt very SATish.

Anybody else not really able to use any rhetorical terms/couldn’t find any, lol?

Also, what’s the breakdown for a 5 - MC and essay wise?

I have a question…

** If you write the wrong source, how badly are you penalized? **

I meant to source e…but forgot the slash mark…so it says source c

I felt lame when I realized…

Wow…I guess I wrote a lot more? Pretty large handwriting:
Synthesis: 5 pgs
Analysis: 4 pgs
Argumentative: 5 pgs

And mult choice was tres easy.

You guys think those essay topics were interesting? the synthesis was alright, but other than that I wanted to slit my wrists upon reading essays two and three.

MC was ok… I went way too slow and ended up not being able to read the last passage, so I skipped 8 MC + 1 of the ones about the passage before. :frowning:
Essays were easy though, I liked the topics on all of them. Page length: 3 1/3 Synthesis, 3 Argumentative, 2 1/2 Rhetorical. My worst essay was the rhetoric though, I talked about things that were probably not the best things to talk about. :P
