AP Human Geography?

I'm debating between AP Human Geography and AP Euro. I am currently in AP US, and I have found it to be a tedious rain of minutiae. I am looking for a history class next year that will be relevent and interactive (not just regurgitate this, but write, analyze, watch, etc.). I am very interested in geography, having competed in geography bees. I am considering a minor in geography or cultural anthropology. Does AP Human Geography involve making maps or data charts? What cultures does it focus on?

However, I also am interested in European history. I dont' know much about European history overall, but I love Scandinavian, Celtic, and French culture. Is AP Euro more about the countries' cultures, or more about politics and events? What time periods does it cover?

If anyone has taken one or both of these courses and would like to comment, your help would be appreciated. Basically what I want to know is which course is more interesting and which will be more beneficial behind my back in college.

I took AP US History last year, and that was that for me. Everyone who decided to take AP Euro in my school is complaining from the work load. They write a lot of long-term essays and get quantitative homework assignments. But it all depends on the teachers in your school.

Human Geography sounds interesting  It would look cool on applications, but your own interests matter more than anybody else’s opinion.

AP Euro, being a history class, focuses mostly on politics, events, and trends in European history. I haven’t taken it, admittedly, but from my understanding it’s just your cut-and-dry history class.

AP Human Geography is the ■■■■■■■ child of sociology and geography. It’s all about the spatial distribution of things like industry, population, culture, religion, and language, with a bit of sociology mixed in on occasion. There is a slight focus towards Western states, but at least when I took, it was very much about brief analysis on a global scale. I didn’t have to make any graphs or charts.

:(

AP USH is the best AP class I’ve ever taken. Although this may be because my teacher somehow decided to curve our multiple-choice exams like the AP test, so I was somewhat insulated from the difficulty of the material (although I did manage to get a 100 on one of the exams, which made me happy).

I didn’t take the AP Geography class, but did take the exam. I was finished in 45 minutes and got a 5. Easiest (serious) exam I’ve ever taken.

AP Euro isn’t really about the cultures. More of a history/politics/events type of class.

^^At least someone is thankful for the course  Sadly, my teacher’s tests were all designed to make most people fail, and the occasional person would get a low A. But somehow I got an A every single marking period and got a 3 on the AP exam.
