AP Scores/Sending - Need Quick Reply - UCs

Hello all,

I’m in a bit of an issue here.

I have taken 5 AP tests, 4 of which are for classes in school, and 1 of which I self-studied for. I did find on the one for my classes in school, but received a score that I would not like colleges to see for the one I self studied for.

Is there a way to prevent colleges from seeing that score? I know the AP score report is just one big report, but you can withhold certain scores. Do I self-report the scores that I want the UCs to see, or do I self-report all scores?

Appreciate a quick reply, as I will be sending my UC application soon.

pretty sure just the scores you want UCs to see

actually… I’m not too sure… I just checked the AP website and I think you needed to withhold your scores before June 15th…? D:

@chubii So when im sending my scores to the UC’s do I just withhold the score I don’t want them to see?

did you do your withholding form already though? like before June 15th 2015?

@chubii No, I may be referring to something else then. I thought there was a way to prevent certain scores from going through, is there not?

@honcho I actually don’t know… on the website it says that to cancel or withhold scores, it needed to be done by June 15th…
but my friend who was a senior last year and he said that you could choose after you pay (but I don’t want to test that in case he’s wrong lol)

@chubii I’ll give Collegeboard a call tomorrow and post what they say in regards to this issue

@honcho oh okay! can you tell me too because I want to know as well
although I’m leaning towards not sending my AP scores until after admission (only self reporting on app)

@chubii You’re not supposed to send scores until you’re admitted lol. I was wondering if I could self report just the ones I wanted to send.

Anyways, I’ll get back to you on that.

The deadline by June 15th only applies to the college written on your answer sheet. When giving your scores you should be able to choose which ones.

@chubii @jessicaraley So I did some research as well as call Collegeboard.

You can self report the ones you want to send, and as for sending scores, use an AP score cancellation sheet to cancel the scores you don’t want to send. This well permanently delete those scores and any indication of ever taking that test. You have to mail the sheet to them as they can not do it by phone.

Once they receive the sheet, it takes them 15 business days to cancel the score, so I suggest sending the sheet now if you are planning on not sending certain scores (the AP scores are sent in one big report).

Also, you send scores once you are accepted to a college, and plan on going there.

As Jessicaraley said, the June 15th deadline only applies to colleges you put down on the sheet on the day of the AP test.

@honcho thank you so much!!
