Hi, so I am a student who is planning to go to a UC and was wondering whether AP Test scores are a factor in admission decisions because I feel there are some AP Tests that are not worth taking because they will give me no credit in colleges would this look bad on my application if I got an A in these classes but chose not to take the test.
If you are not a senior, unless you have a safety school that does not give credit, you have no idea what the AP credit policy is at the college you will ultimately be attending. So while AP scores carry little, if any weight, in the admissions process, I see no reason not to that the exam unless money is an issue.
If you are a senior, then you know what college you will be attending by the tie AP exams roll around. Unless the college or HS requires you to take the AP tests, you can choose not to.
Right now based off my GPA, scores and people that have gotten in from my school with similar grades and scores along with naviance I will most likely be attending UCI or UCSB maybe UCSC since they’re a d3 school I may be able to play on their basketball team and Human geography will only get me elective credit at all my schools even if i were to get a 5 so do u think its necessary for me to take this because I’m not sure what elective credit is and whether or not its usefu
I plan to be an economics major btw
