How important are AP tests in the Admissions process? I have the AP Scholar with Distinction, but I didn’t know if colleges wanted you to put individual test score on your resume?
AP tests aren’t very important, and the admissions office won’t even ask for them until after decisions, and then only to see if your AP credits count for any requirements. You probably have better things than your AP scores to put on your resume, but it’s up to you, really.
@masquerade98, would you say that SAT Subject test scores are more important?
@emilykatem Yes–Georgetown to my knowledge is the only school that requires 3 subject tests. If you’re interested in what they value in an application, I suggest you look up Georgetown’s common data set. They explicitly rank what they consider to be more important there.
@masquerade98 thank you! Very helpful. Have you already been admitted? And I know other schools like UPenn and Brown require three as well. I think the upper level schools require them as well
@emilykatem I’m a Georgetown class of 2021, so yes–I’m finishing up freshman year right now And neither Penn nor Brown require 3 subject tests. Instead, they suggest 2 subject tests, with different suggestions based on your applied major. To my knowledge, no Ivy requires 3.
