Background: I am an A/B student (mostly A's) I am a good test taking and always try my best but I can be a bit of a procrastinator. I want to go to the University of Columbia in NY and study Dentistry.

Problem: I am enrolled in APUSH for my junior year of high school but I am seriously doubting myself. I'm afraid I won't pass the exam and that I will fail the class with will ruin my GPA and class rank.

Question: should I take regular US History or will that look like I am slacking and cutting myself short? I know I can get an A in regular history but the constant horror stories of APUSH make me nervous.

Extra Info: I am also taking AP lang, French 3, Yearbook, FST, Marketing 2, and Anatomy. And I have to prepare for the ACT and the PSAT.

u’ll be fine. I made it though taking APBIO, APCALC BC, Biomed, and of course APUSH. I was also doing soccer which forced me to start hw at like 7. I’m sure u’ll do fine, just remember to read the textbook! that’s key. do that and take good notes and you shouldn’t need to study for the AP test

Seriously I think you’d be better off attending Columbia for dental school; no need to go there for undergrad.

If you want to attend Columbia for dental school, get 3.7+ in college and score 25+ on the DAT… you know shadowing, community service matter by now.

Tip for APUSH: buy the AMSCO book and follow along with it during the school year. Also but REA Crash Course before the exam. These books help a LOT.

Definitely take AP US History. You can do it! History is mostly memorization, so just be sure that you allow yourself enough time to MEMORIZE. Yes, definitely buy the AMSCO book. That’s the only book I studied from for the AP test and I got a 5. Best of luck!

AP US is so easy. I never read one page in that text book and made a 5 on the exam. Also, I can’t ever remember doing homework for 30 mins every night, yet I still made an A in the class. If you’re good at history, the multiple choice on the exam and the essays will be almost common knowledge to you. I’m so sick of people psyching others out and acting like AP is sooo hard only to make their own intelligence seem greater.
