Appeal admission decision question

Hi Everyone,

I got rejected from MSU because they said my GPA was too low. However, I’m taking classes right now to increase my GPA. Is anyone on here familiar with the appeal process at all? Would really appreciate if someone can tell me because I was hoping the admissions committee would at least wait til the end of the semester to make a decision.

You didn’t say what your GPA is but I know MSU uses only the core classes to calculate your GPA. If you are taking classes to raise your GPA are they electives or core classes? If you are taking a bunch of easy electives then it probably won’t help you. Your best bet is to call admissions and ask what the appeals process is and if what you are doing would even help.

If MSU is your goal then your best bet is to enroll in a college you got accepted into, do well, and then transfer into MSU. Entering as a freshman is not the only path. If you want to go there, there are many other ways to accomplish it.

Best wishes.

Hi, I’m currently a student at GVSU and my current GPA is 2.75 right now I applied as s transfer student.
