Hello! I have been looking for threads discussing appeals and there is only a few and there are several people in the same position as I am and looking for help! Has anyone gone through the appeal process, and if so did the appeal work? I was denied bc I did not pass math which made my gpa drop. Btw, this was my freshman year aat a 4 year institution. This semester I got my overall GPA up to a 3.1 , and I passed math. When sending in my appeal I am also providing 2 letters of recommendation.
If anyone has advice , or anything LMK(:
According to prepscholar, the average GPA at MSU is 3.71. I would be very surprised if your appeal were to work out. Generally an appeal is to handle cases where someone made a mistake, not where your GPA is not high enough to be admitted.
I am a bit confused however regarding what your situation is. Are you currently at a different 4 year university, and hoping to transfer to MSU? What year are you in? What is your major? What math course did you have trouble with?
I am mainly asking people that have gone through an appeal. Although the average GPA is a 3.71 I know a handfull of people that have been admitted with a 3.0 and even 2.9… I am going through the appeal process and it is recommended to appeal if you have improved, and have a higher gpa.
I went to a 4 year university, i am going to be a sophomore, i am undecided
