Appeal for Admission

I am an in state non auto admit applicant. I was wait listed with ACT 32 and 4.0 GPA. My class rank is around top 17% but I go to a very competitive school where around 20-25% of the kids usually get accepted. I gave great EC's, great Rec letters and decent essays. Does anyone have any insight as to why I may not have been accepted? I applied Exercise science but I would take undergrad studies. Do I have a case for an appeal? Would changing my major help? Thanks for any help.

They told you you were waitlisted? It was announced on your MyStatus?

Yup at about 7 last night

How many AP and Honor level courses did you take? Are you graduating on DAP?

10 AP classes and every other class honors so about 15 I’m guessing

And yes dap

Are you saying that you had straight As (4.0 GPA) with 10 AP courses & 5 Honors courses? Coz I would be pretty upset too, if that were the case.

Or

Are you saying that you have a straight B average (4.0 on a 5.0 scale) with 10 AP and 5 Honors courses? In which case, the waitlisting would be understandable. My son has also not been accepted. He had a similar GPA (slightly above 4.0). He has more than 10 APs and more than 10 Honors courses. In Jr year took 5 APs (4,5,5,5,5).

Did you send UT a resume with your AP scores and mention them in your essays or as the reason for being an AP scholar etc.?

As far as the appeal is concerned I believe you have to wait until you are rejected.

Waitlisted,
How were you notified and what do tou see on yout UT direct?
Can you pay for summer orientation?
Hang in there.

How do you know if you have been wait listed?

In post 3, Waiting160 says yes, when asked if was on My Status.

I also JUST received news that I was waitlisted according to myStatus, applied for Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering, very similar numbers to the OP. (ACT32, top 16%, 4.0wGPA)

I was accepted to A&M for civil engineering, so I need to make a decision by May 1… is there any chance for me being admitted to UT Engineering? Or is the wait list just a chance for undergraduate admissions? What are these chances? (Is it worth taking the risk, because i would have to waive my A&M admission, seeing as I wouldnt know I would be admitted to UT until May 15)

I got CAPPED for Bio. Is there anyway to appeal that?
