So, I just got a call today that I resented because I failed to complete a course. The thing is that my counselor at my community college told me I just had to pass my phil class and I can take the 2nd course for my major at UCR. UCR counselor told me that yea counselors over there tell students that, but here they don't. So that she couldn't help me and just to fill out an appeal. My question is how screwed am I? or do I have a chance of getting in with this appeal? They dont take spring app, so I have to waste 1 year for 1 class. They even said summer class is too late so don't even bother. Thanks for the help in advance!

I’ll say this, you have nothing to lose in filing the appeal but your time and the money you use to get it sent and everything to win. Also, when you got accepted there were “provisions of admission” telling you what you needed to do to not jeopardize your fall admission . I’m sorry your ccc counselor told you it would be okay and idk why he did because the only ones who could tell you that would be the UCR staff who oversee your admission. If you had spoken to UCR about not completing the class beforehand they might have been able to work with you on it. Horror stories like this is why I’ve never trusted ccc counselors and it angers me when incompetent ccc counselors tell students stuff like this… I feel for you bro. What would you be saying in this appeal? I wish you the best of luck.
