Hey guys. I recently checked my UC application and one of the English Composition classes I put that I was going to take for Spring was already taken at UCR. They did not list my finished English class (English 1B) but instead they listed the English 103 I had planned. I ended up not taking the English 103 because I realized I didn't need it but never updated the TAU. Right now it seems that they did not acknowledge that I finished my intermediate composition class.

Is this grounds for an appeal? Also, I do plan on writing more about first quarter having a 2.3 GPA and how I am making my bounce back to academic. Prior to the 2.3 quarter I did pretty well.

I don’t really get what you’re saying with the English class thing. The first quarter 2.3 is irrelevant to UCSD and an explanation won’t matter at all in determining the validity of your appeal.

Sorry let me clarify.

-A required English class was accidentally marked as “planned” but I actually have it completed.

3.6 gpa to 2.3 drop in 1 quarter .

So your cumulative gpa is??

@ragingzero: If it was a required English class that you completed and that’s the reason why they didn’t accept you (they thought you didn’t finish it) I would definitely appeal on that.

@actraiin 3.3~3.4 Not sure how it evens out. But atleast a 3.3

I’d appeal, since that’s a clerical error, rather than your actually not taking the class. Good luck; I hope UCSD ends up admitting you. :)

Oh you can try to appeal but I doubt that it would do any good if you were flat out rejected. The GPA cut-off for non-tag applicants this year was a 3.53. Seeing as your GPA is a little lower than that if you were to appeal you would not make the cut off for acceptance. Although your GPA is around what is on the waitlist, I don’t think you can appeal to be on the waitlist if you were flat out rejected, UCSD’s rules. It’s worth a shot, i mean it’s only 250 words so it’s not like it’s an overbearing process to appeal. =] good luck to you.

Oh, yeah if your GPA is that low an appeal isn’t going to matter.
