Applicant Cap

So, my question is: "Does Rice cap the number of applicants from one school?"

I go to a strong math/science high school where there are usually about 70 students who apply to Rice, and about 25 students are accepted every year.

So, I was not sure if Rice restricts the number of students coming from one school. I know that by applying to Rice, I am technically competing with everyone in the applicant pool, including the applicants from my school.

What I was not sure about was if there was an internal competition from one school like: "We can only take x amount of students from your school, even though there are more who are qualified and would have been accepted."

Any top school likes to be diverse and will try not to accept multiple applicants from the same school. HOWEVER, if you are qualified, and they like you, they will accept you. noone will be like “DEFINITELY not, we already have X students from Y school”

5 people from my mediocre high school got accepted.

13 students from my school got into Rice this year
