Applied for business and engineering, don't think I can get into engineering

I have computer science as my 1st choice and business as my second. If I am unable to get into engineering what are the chances I can transfer into engineering later? Thanks!

I asked an admissions aide the same thing. Except in my case I was wondering If I could use chemical engineering to get in and then transfer into computer science. He recommended against it saying that there was no guarantee I would get to transfer into a different college even though I was in the university and essentially I would be up against the applicant pool of transfers all over again. In my situation I am a transfer student with only 6 months of CC under my belt. I have a very good GPA, but I fear 6 months doesn’t make me look very committed. In my situation, extra time at the university would allow me to put some more credit hours under my belt. However, at the same time, I would risk looking flaky (not committed to one area). I think that if you have the discipline to keep a rigorous academic schedule, improve your grades, take on business major related activities outside the class room and have a good reason for transferring later on, then go for it.
