Transfer seeking admission into College of Engineering

Hello I am looking to transfer to NC State and continue my study in Chemical Engineering. I was wanting to know my chance at admission into the college this spring and then once I finish the GE classes at NC State, i can apply for fall into the college of engineering. I am considered a sophomore now at Georgia State University, I have 36 credit hours that will all transfer. I took a heavy load and took classes that had me hard in the books. Right now i have a 3.27 gpa.
14 hours my first semester-
chemistry 1-B
C in English.
18 hours my second semester-
Intro to Engineering- B
Engineering Design- B
Chemistry 2- B
Calc 1- A
Summer 2014
Physics 1 calc based- B

I am aware that i need calc 2 and that is a class i will take this fall, along with Orgo 1, English 2 and Geology.
I am planning to apply within a month and i talked to a ad-visor and was informed it be a good idea to come during the spring and complete the required courses engineers have to complete before being admitted into the Program. Then plan to be admitted during the summer/fall 2015. If someone could chance me and give me a good idea of what to expec,be greatly appreciatedt. I have visited the school and given a tour of the new Engineering building and love it. I am very excited and just hope everything falls into place and i can continue at NCSU next Spring. Thank you all for your time and best wishes.

Also is it harder for a out-of-state student to be admitted? And is community service really something they look at in a transfer desicion?

It is not harder for out of state students. Your grades are within NCSU’s guidelines. Keep up the good work, try to do well in calc II. Apply as early as you can which should be in Jan when you have all of your required classes. The overall average for engineering transfer students is over 3.5 gpa. Chem E has lower requirements than some of the other engineering disciplines so it might be a bit easier to transfer into, but I don’t know that.
