Nope. It's a perfectly legit site that I use ALL THE TIME. So, no worries...or my computer is screwed...lol.

I'm a girl...hehe. I think we're all girls here. WOOHOO!

I'm a girl...hehe. I think we're all girls here. WOOHOO!

yeah dude i wanna know too, catch, i read in another thread that kinda hinted that you were a girl but ur sn reminds me of a boy! lol, sorry, no offense or anything. i know it's from the book but it reminds me of baseball --> boys. :-D

EDIT: ok, i guess u posted while i was typing this.

HAHA. I am kind of a tomboyish/girly girl...depends on the occasion I guess. I fell in love w. the book, thus my name. :)

yeah, me too...i'll go from sloppy sweats, ponytail, and no makeup (heck, barely washed face) to strappy heals, floaty dress, and flashy earrings...it makes no sense.

haha same here, some mornings I don't even look in the mirror and put on any random sweats and some I get up early to like put on make up and straighten my hair... I wished we had more time in the mornings though. I end up getting up at the last minute alot but I stay up pretty late every night even if I'm not doing homework.

Catch 22 was a great book, I read it long time ago though.

Gosh...I think I am the only Chinese girl with short hair...sigh...no ponytails for me...hehe.

I play and watch a lot of sports though, biking, and video games...so, haha, a tomboy at heart...but can go totally girly over...uhh...clothing/cute animals/and...guys...lol.

hehe my mom forced me to have short hair until like 2nd grade (when they went to US and left me there) so I kept long hair whenever I had a chance lol.

yeah I know what you mean. I have many groups of friends ranging from nerdy to preppy to cool, I can be pretty different myself too.

My hair doesn't grow "long"...and I don't look good with long hair. HEHE. When I was a kid, every single person thought I was a little boy...

I think we are like totally typing/posting at the same time...lol. I'm really laid back...hate to fret over grades, a classic example of a skilled procratinator and world class BS'er (when it comes to english papers...)

I don't mind difficult work but I just hate competition. I hope there aren't that many grade obsessed people at Penn or other top universities. Haha procrastination is such an American thing. I used to be so good when I first came here, did everything as soon as they were assigned. I guess I had some bad influences lol

My parents are bad influences...they are like an aberration of nature, completely abnormal CHinese parents. They tell me to "chill". Like the day before yesterday, they both stayed home, and decided that we should bond, and just gave me a day off...lol. They think I'm too stressed, and like never asks for my grades and just found out about Huntsman when I was ACCEPTED...lol. Therefore, this hippie mentality has affected me greatly...they lure me away from my HW w. the chinese dramas and food...HEHE.

waaah! I'm so envious. My parents are like the stereotypical Asian parents: controlling, grade obsessed, and nosy. I mean, they do lots of nice things for me and I love them but when it comes to school, they're cracking the whip.

eek, my parents are like low-key stereotypical. they care about grades and stuff but not nearly as much as some other asian parents i've seen. i guess that could be why i'm so lazy lol =) but i guess it's pretty nice

yea my parents... are control freaks... like normal asians... i guess?

An example of how my parents are:
I got a 1530 on my SAT the first time, all I hear is "you could've done better"
so I succumb to pressure and guilt and retake it and got a 1600. then the sentence changes to "sigh, if only you'd gotten that score the first time, colleges look down on retakers don't they?" AGH! nothing pleases them...

Whoa. That's terrible. Awfully impressive, but terrible. My parents are totally like my best friends, no barriers watsoever...I play video games with my dad and watch tv w. my mom. They insist on "bonding"...haha. It's the best thing in my life: how close my parents and I are.

Hao^2: have you met the Penn rep for AZ? lol. I think I asked this earlier.

ha, video games are totally banned in my house except for my 1987 nintendo. are you sure your parents are really chinese? i can't believe you came to the u.s. when you were 9 yet your parents are so great. i came when i was 4 and it still feels like good ole chairman mao is calling the shots in our house.

sorry, forgot about your question. i think i met him at the gtown, duke, harvard, penn thing about 6 months ago. he seemed nice but was overshadowed by the duke guy who was really cool. unless there's a different rep you're referring to. my interest in penn only really started about 4 months ago after i did some online reading/research so i'm not as familiar with it as i'd like to be.

wow jill, your parents are really strict on you. but i guess they really push you to strive for your best.

catch, haha my parents are sorta like that. i watch movies with them sometime, and it gets kinda annoying how i have to explain all the american culturish stuff to them every time. i used to play video games non stop and my parents would get ****ed, but they wouldn't do much about it... except for that one time when my dad installed a lock for the computer room, that wasn't cool lol

HAHA. I always crack up when my parents tell me to "get away from the computer(HW)...there, go watch tv..."...totally abnormal...which is a good thing I guess. Yes, they are Chinese...which is sooooooooooooooo weird because they are like soooo laid back. They have NEVER gone to my teacher-parent nights, and just...lol...they went w. me to a John Kerry rally though....they are pretty liberal, which is awesome.

I think that's the guy. Awww. He's awesome though...sorry he got overshadowed by the Duke guy, but, he's a really cool guy...funniest rep I've ever met (I went to the Penn-only thingy, didn't go to the "BIg-4" night this year).

wow that really is weird.
lol.. my mom doesn't interfere w/ my school at all. she tries to get me to clean up my room tho... but u know, being rebellious and sloppy, i don't and it's disgusting. =D

if you guys are a lil bored =P i was like eee wharton! haha it's a life-expectancy calc. supposedly. i got 79 years.. o.0 something'll happen tho.. ehh.. oh well ^^

i know twelve girls! that's good stuff, we had a dvd of em... i'm going to bed 2 hours later than i said i would since i had lil hw today. boo =( night

afaforce, my mom tells me all the time that i have to clean up my room and improve my living habits because otherwise "no man will want me"...it's so hilarious. and then at these asian parties, all the dads ask me if i cooked anything and say "if you don't learn, how will you ever please a man?" these people need to wake up and smell the 21st century.
