Is this unheard of/unusual? If I were to apply to some transfer schools at the beginning of my junior year (would be applying for Spring 2009 semester since I'm about to be a second-semester sophomore) would I be looked at as "too advanced"? For what it's worth, I'd have 60-65 credits.

People who transfer with AA degrees from community colleges automatically transfer as 1st semester juniors. I'm transferring with an AA and they accept exactly 64 credit hours. I'd say your situation is probably the most common depending where you're going.

I think most schools just don't accept senior transfers or have a credit hour limit. I think UNC-CH (where I'm trying to get in at) has a cut off of 90 or something like that.

Ah, OK. So students applying while they are juniors (during or at the beginning of their first junior semester) are not unusual?

Also, wouldn't someone receiving their A.A. at the end of this coming semester (Spring '08) apply now/in the near future for Fall '08 admittance?

yeah, they would. They apply with the classes they are in the middle of taking now and then send their transcripts again when they have the degree, same as 2nd semester high school senior.

I got my AA this December and have to take a semester off waiting for the fall (UNC doesn't accept spring or summer transfers).

OK that makes sense. Thank you mikey.

You're welcome
