Hey I was wondering if it would be better that i applied to ucla as a film major to get in, and then switch to history, becuase that's what I want to do. I have a great chance to get in as a film major, because I have directed so many projects, and have held sevral jobs in film
GPA 4.0 weighted

800 US History
150 hours community service
Broadcast-1 year
Video Production 3 years
directed 3 school projects, two no-budget projects, held a job at a major studio, and at a corporate video company.

Is the film major in a separate "school" from the Arts and Science? If so, it may be difficult switching between the School of Fine Arts (or whatever the school that has film is called) to the School of Arts and Science. If it's within the Arts and Science school, your intended major will have little bearing on your application, so you may as well apply for history.

Maybe you could double-major? Some schools really make it tough to switch majors, especially if theyr'e in different colleges. Maybe your GC can give you more advice?
