" So in general, what I am saying is that it goes a long way to show common decency and good work ethic, not only in the college application process but in life in general."

So true, I hope they see that. At her portfolio interview there was also one of her former teachers. When she was there she worked hard and loved it. She has the passion & creativity and has had both of those for a long time.
So now just waiting…

@lindsaylee, it sounds like your daughter made great use of her precollege time at FIt and her instructors will definitely pick up on that. I can’t speak for the fashion design major (my daughter applied to communication design), but during the precollege program, it was kind of mentioned that receiving an “A” in those classes is a pretty good indication that you have a good chance of being admitted into the program. I say that with hesitation because I don’t want to build false hope, as I am sure more plays into it. Keep in mind, the precollege grades are actually indicated on an official FIT transcript, so it certainly can’t hurt! Best of luck!

hey guys!!! i’m getting really anxious too. i applied for AMC. i’ve done 8 precollege classes at FIT as well as a 1-credit class at the school of visual arts, my mom is an alumni, and i have a 4.0 gpa…but i’m still reallyyyy nervous. and what blows is that i got into all of my other school but i’m still waiting for my top choice cough. i hate the waiting game :(

Thank you, k1k2k3. I hope good news is on it’s way! FIT is her top choice and she has only applied to two schools, both in NYC. She didn’t want to apply to a bunch of other colleges for the sake of “just in case”.
She says “it’s all or nothing”. Risky, but she’s determined.

Congrats, zasty!
I’ve been reading about a lot of people getting early decision letters in the mail this past weekend. It’s making me so anxious.

Hi, when you talk about students who applied for Early Decision, are you referring to students applying for regular fall admission? Traditionally, Early Decision implies that your application is sent in by November, and decisions are sent in December or January, maybe as late as Feb. I think my daughter had her application in by January or Feb. this year.

@Minky I think for FIT, there is no ED. Students can still send their application in November but still receive their letters by April 1st. Students who are receiving their letters now as you see from posts here and on their Facebook page is because of their well academic records during highschool
