Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

it says on the website that transfers start hearing on a rolling basis starting mid-April so I’m assuming like last year on April 13th (via mail)

glad to hear that Cheeky :)

Does anyone know when the GT applicants hear from Cornell ?

@ anyone applying for financial aid - is it true that I need to send the FinAid office their own copy of my transfer transcript? On the FinAid website it doesn’t say I need it, but my Cornell selfservice page has that item on the to-do list. Input please??

you do not need to do that.

do we have to do something for financial aid? i thought all i have to do was fafsa?! oh shi*t?!

For Transfer forms, is it okay if it’s late? I did not have financial aid list until, I dont know. But I am positive that it wasn’t open for like a week.

Cornell didn’t receive my FAFSA which I clearly sent 2 weeks ago and have Cornell as a recipient?

late night posts are not my thing…I don’t make sense in them lol

what i meant was: I sent Cornell my FAFSA 2 weeks ago and I checked on the FAFSA document and it is marked as sent. And I have Cornell as a recipient.

But the financial aid thing doesnt have it. Argh. Lol i so need aid or it’s cc for me.

@luckeyg - You would have to contact them to ask if they would accept yours, especially because you never initially sent anything. I had to fax Cornell confirmation dates on documents that were sent March 1st, but never reached them, so that they knew that I did, in fact, have things sent out on time. Get in contact with them on Monday and see what they can do for you.

@Castiel - From the conversation I had with Cornell, they will retrieve your FAFSA electronically. So I don’t think you will see it as checked off until either maybe 1.) they manually upload it, or 2.) they don’t upload it unless you’ve been accepted and they then need it for your financial aid consideration. Don’t quote me on that though. Does anyone here have the FAFSA checked-off on their to-do list??

I noticed that there will be a phone interview for students who applied to
ILR.
Does anyone know what kind of questions they will be asking and if this interview plays a role in their decision to accept or reject students?

@Cheeky: my financial aid to-do list was empty for a while, so I did not check it until yesterday. Also, my status check is not available; it was until last week, but it’s not anymore. So I am not sure what I am missing.

@luckeyg - I think everyone’s status checks are unavailable so that Cornell doesn’t receive any inquiries as to what documents are missing; I still have the message up that states that they are receiving a high volume of mail, etc. Also, just give the financial aid office a call on Monday. Like ntmikey said, they’re very helpful and nice.

To be honest, your ACT is really low & your extracurriculars are ordinary.

^^^Whom are you referring to, truffliepuff??

Ok - I called the FinAid office and they said that even though my stuff came in after the application deadline - all it means is that I won’t receive the Fin Aid letter at the same time as the (hopeful!) acceptance letter - but that I can still get aid at a later date.

Has anyone else heard something similar?

I am applying as an international student at Cornell (Engineering). Is there another international student here?

here!
