Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

Hey ironicallyunsure do you know how important is the interview for the hotel school? I did not have a chance to interview on campus but the interviewer told me she would write a positive report.

Also should I send them application updates ? A guy agreed to give me 3 grants to start an investment fund last week and some others promise to join this summer. I really want them to know about it but my application is not even processed and I heard it’s a bad thing too send so many stuffs. Really confused!

Everyone: We all still have that message up on our selfservice pages, right??

Ironicallyunsure- I applied to the HD major so hopefully I see you there next year! I actually followed the Spring Cornell Thread last year anticipating my application this fall and remember reading about you, congrats on getting in! Is it everything you thought it would be? I really hope I can get in.

RileyJohn- haha sorry, yes I am a HD major but if we are the only 2 in this thread then I think we can both get in without a problem! Good luck!

@hurricane: what? they require the descriptions of all the courses that I took??? I only sent in my transcript!!!

haha, what are your stats Tati?

after finals, im gonna make a list of who applies to which school, which major, international or not blah blah blah.

Right now, I’m going to make a list of people who are planning to make lists

Planning to make list:
ntmikey

■■■■■ .

ntmikey - they require them only for engineering. If you’re not applied in coe, don’t worry about it.

Cornell want a lot of financial aid’s papers, even though we don’t know if we get it or not

duyng - for ILR, the interview is to mostly set up a timeline and doesn’t actually have much weight in your decision. i’m not sure about the hotel school, but since they care about relevant ECs, i suspect it’s just to get to know more about you. while in general i advise against sending updates, i think yours will help set you apart, so if you write a strong, short letter explaining what’s going on, i think it can only help

tati - it’s everything i imagined and more  then again, i’m cornell-obsessed so really there’s nothing i don’t/won’t love about cornell haha. did you go to transfer day? i met a bunch of people intending on applying for fall as HD majors so maybe we already met lol

RileyJohn- My Stats are:

First Generation Student
I did not submit SAT scores

Ironicallyunsure- I actually couldn’t attend Transfer Day, haha how many is actually a bunch of people? Just trying to see how tough the competition is.

I think it’s good Cornell has sent e-mails regarding application materials. It shows that they are PROCESSING IT. That’s a gd sign.

Btw, do you guys know if they accept applicants/assess them based on school or major?

Essentially, is there more competition if more ppl are applying to that school or a major within that school?

whattttttt? they sent out emails regarding application materials??? when did u submit boysdontcry? sorry for overacting everytime :P

Yes they did – not to me. Some guy said so a few pages back didn’t he? I submitted everything (everything checked off in Feb). HEH. Lucky me.

oh yeah i remember that, you told us already =]

Damn, I just receive an email from the transfer admission office. My complete courses description / syllabi are missing. I have till the 9th to send them. What the heck? I sent those documents march the 10th via priority mail. I will have to go to the postal office tomorrow and check it out. That’s not a good sign… NOt at all…

gotcha! .

hey guys, i’m just wondering how do you feel about this transfer process. in my case, it was very confusing and uncertain. I was accepted last semester. if there’s something i can help you, let me know , ok? …wait a sec, emine?!, lol. rileyjohn, were you accepted? congrats!

Do you all think that Cornell will update the online system so that we can view which documents they’ve received? Or will that message stay up? I hate not being able to follow the processing of my application :(
