Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

1001

Good luck to all of you!

weirdon - when i asked him, he said “no, cornell’s weird” lol so sorry, that’s not very helpful. i’d call up finaid anonymously and bug them with tons of questions hehe

Thank you very much Iron. Cornell’s finaid is really weird. I have to do a lot of papers because I need to prove that I’m independant. However, I don’t know if I would even get accepted or not. I don’t think I will get accepted though. lol

this thread has like a gazallion views lol, Cornell > everything.

On a less Cornellian note, I have a chem midterm in 2 hours and don’t want to take it  Someone wanna come and take my spot

^ co-signed

co-signed??? lol

How important are pre requisites? For example, I want to apply to AEM but I am missing BIO 1 and 2  as far as prereqs go. [CALS Admissions: Required Preparatory Coursework](http://www.cals.cornell.edu/cals/prospective/admissions/applying/transfer/coursework.cfm?title=Applied%20Economics%20and%20Management)

any news guys?

Pre reqs are very important, especially for the AEM major which is ultra competitive.

WHY HAVEN’T I GOTTEN MY NET ID YET? I submitted my common app stuff on the 17th. It said it was downloaded on the 19th.

Hey guys ok I need some advice! I never submitted my supplement!!! Help!

So I submitted my Application to Cornell via the Common Application on 3/15/2010. I received and activated my ApplicantID on March 18, 2010. I signed into my status page and found that they say that they are bascally too busy to have verified all my documents by now.

Today, I was looking around this site and I discovered that the deadline was extended to 3/26/2010. So I logged in to my common app on a whim, and noticed something that I had totally overlooked before: There is a SUPPLEMENT!! I never submitted the supplement! I can’t even believe I was so stupid, but I really didn’t! I’m working on it right now, but I’ll be submitting it today…1 day after the “extended deadline.” What do you guys think? does it really matter? They already gave me an applicantid and everything… :/

I’m scared

By the way, this is the website to check for the status of our received documents, correct?

solidblu, are you serious? it says EVERYWHERE that there is a supplement. you’re basically looking at automatic rejection. it says it on the cornell transfer site (the general one), the transfer site for your college, and on the commonapp site you can clearly see that there is the commonapp AND a supplement.

Is the A&S transfer acceptance rate so low more because of high standards or high volume of applicants?

^both. has the most amount of applicants i think and high selectivity and low spaces

I wish there was someway you could see profiles of the typical accepted kids, at least know how I stack up.

@KingJustinian - Um…how about this entire thread? And last year’s thread?? I’d say that’s pretty much what you’re looking for.

will anyone be going through an interview? how does one prepare for it?

@ironicallyunsure
Dude I hope you’re wrong! I mean, I don’t care about cornell THAT much (I care much MUCH more about U Penn and Berkeley), but it would’ve been nice to have cornell as an option :(

oh wait solidblu, just reread what you wrote. if you submitted today, then maybe you’re not entirely screwed. but don’t be surprised if it works against you

aaaaaaaaaand i take back anything nice i ever said because of the “i dont care that much” comment.

Yeah, some of my school papers were sent late…and I’m still working on the Mid-Term semester report thing…

I’m setting myself up for disappointment. I’m not expecting a fat envelope, even though I’d kill for one. Applied to there, Vassar, Barnard, etc.

I just need out of my current school.

How is Cornell’s financial aid for transfers? (Sorry, I haven’t read ALL the posts so if this is a repeat…I’m apologetic.)
