It’s kind of discouraging because I’ve heard from a lot of people that CAS usually rejects applicants who don’t have a 4.0 and a lot of relevant ECs. Eh, Cornell wasn’t my first choice anyway, just an extremely high reach, hopefully Vanderbilt or Boston College can get back to me within the next week.

ironicallyunsure, which school did you transfer into by the way? I think you mentioned it before, but I forgot

DreamingBig, I wouldn’t worry about getting rejected if you don’t have a 4.0. There are a lot of people who have gotten in from here that don’t have a 4.0, and there are certainly a few of us that have gotten rejected with 4.0s ( hi )… the essays and recommendations certainly have a lot of weight in the process!

@ironicallyunsure: can you ask your boyfriend when they released the financial aid decision last year and when was the orientation??? i need these info in order to plan and buy the tickets for my trip back to my country this summer.

@ironicallyunsure: do u know when humec released their decisions last semester and the year before? do you think it will be the around the same time this year?

orientation is a week before classes start, so either the 3rd or 4th week of august. finaid comes a few weeks after your admissions decision, but you don’t need to reply about whether or not you’re coming until you get it. it’ll probably be around the same as that, maybe a tad earlier cause i think they send acceptances first lol

for fall, i got it the morning of one of my finals - so may something. this year, i submitted in late september and was admitted the week of thanksgiving.

Darn, I received an email saying some materials are missing. But when I checked the selfservice website, everything is marked as received??? Should I call them, email them or just wait??

Today one of my tutees got accepted to a graduate program at cornell during the tutoring session. I was happy for her but still couldnt hide my jealous face :(

GAHH, I want to know now, rejection or not. Bring it on!

Also, out of curiosity, what’s the difference between Bio in CALS and CAS? Is it more for people that want to double major in something in the arts?
