looks like I am the only one on cc apply as a physics major :p

Its funny how as soon as you mentioned that memories of my trip there came about. I attended the balck and bimedical confrence in february there and I recall the alumni and ad coms from the top med schools lecturing us and one of the alumni said he took physics at a community college during the summer cause physics and chem at Cornell are superhard. Although they said his physics grade was frowned upon, he was still excepted into Cornells medical school. I just thought that was interesting.

@boys, i only have one media studies class and some psych classes…

but i have a lot of comm ECs and i got a few articles published, but my focus was on science b/c i want to do community health communications–i have a ton of related ECs

@brndname: we premed students need high GPA first dude.

Congrats Cheeky4409.

Radlinsky - Transfer Option (TO) is the new name for Guaranteed Transfer (GT). Some Cornell Schools call it GT, CALS calls it TO. Basically if you maintained the required GPA (3.3 or 3.5 - I don’t recall, it varies slightly by school), did all the required courses (or APed out) and meet a couple of other trivial requirements, you are in. If you do not meet any of the requirements, you lose your ‘guaranteed’ status but you are still considered along with other transfer applicants. I recall last year one of the GTs did not maintain her GPA but was still accepted (they accepted her special circumstances.)

Well, I am so happy your long wait is over and you are now in your dream school. Congrats. BTW your stats are awsome.

I am a GT too (CALS AEM). Haven’t got anything in mail yet.

@ironic: did all students who got accepted last year received an email?

@brndname: how did you get into premed with that kind of grammar?

HA! he’s not even premed

“@ironic: did all students who got accepted last year received an email?”

lol, FreedayFF. it looks like the joke’s on you. your grammar isn’t exactly perfect either.

just saying.

btw, non-Econ CAS applicant (don’t want to disclose the major since it’s very unusual…maybe if I get accepted. but for now we’ll just leave it at that)

winona - no, most did not.

and for those of you who ever get to talk to him, water’s great. hiiiiiii water <3

brndname - your arrogance is really annoying. your ONE visit to cornell does not make you the authority on all things. i know more about transfer/professional school admissions than you could dream of, much like i know more people out there in the real world who matter than you could ever dream of. i got a bunch of PMs from people on this thread thanking me for being the only one to call you out on your attitude, so i am not the only one bothered by you. if you want to make friends, then the people who post on here would be happy to be nice, but so far, everything you’ve said makes you sound like a piece of poop. i would really rethink the way you present yourself on this board or you will have trouble making friends (both now and, if by some miracle, when you get in).

and congrats rad! you must be so excited to finally be getting ready to come!

^Hahaha, brilliantly stated, Ironic.

@brndname - Please recognize that this forum is comprised of students who are beyond excited about the prospect of attending Cornell and who are not appreciative of your pessimism and overall ‘wet-blanket’ attitude. And I second what many others have said - check your grammar…at least a quick look-over. It’s painful to read.

@winonanot - You’re seriously not going to state your major because of how unusual it is? (eye roll). For the record, applications are in, so no one is going to ‘steal’ your uniqueness.

yeah as much as im not one for drama, brndname you are kind of bringing the thread down. im all for a realistic and honest approach but ultimately we are all supportive and genuinely excited for each other. i don’t want to start anything or perpetuate conflict, but it’s getting kind of annoying.

and to everyone: sorry if my grammar/spelling is off–i type these out fast and usually on my phone so im not really paying attention.

i particularly hate drama but i must say i’m getting annoyed by your arrogance brandname. maybe this place is not for you, so please!

@hyperlite - Lol I don’t think any of us typically register any typo or grammatical error. I think everyone types their posts relatively quickly, so rarely are the posts properly constructed. Brndname just had exceptionally horrid grammar.

I’m ESL here so please forgive me if I make stupid grammar mistake :P

thx cheeky :)

So it seems like we have CALS acceptances , but no CAS yet…
AAAAARRRGGGHHHH

you kno what, since yesterday, ive been checking my email at an irrational rate … like I flash my iphone email app every hour just to see if they mailed it =P

Me too, another night ensues of checking my this thread, refreshing my Cornell app page, and my email.

At least I know I’m not the only one obsessing

I set my iPhone to “PUSH EMAIL” instead of updating every 15 mn, and I got really angry when it was a commercial email arghhhhhh

I’m currently on the low end of life…I highly doubt I’ll get in with the mid-year grades I sent in. I don’t know what to do with my life anymore…
