I dont know about all the universities you named above cz i am more into engineering unis but i know that texas a&m College station can be as selective as 10% in engineering and 30% in general for internaitional. In fall 2012 a&m admitted 1600 out of almost 10000 applications in engineering and its going to be more selective each year because a&m has freaking hell of a multi-million dollar plans to create some state-of-the-art facility for engineering which will be one of its kind in the nation in near future. Really cannot say much about your chances since you are from FSC, i dont know much about that system. But i have posted my response on a&m’s forum.

Fsc aint gonna harm the chances i think , but my school administration is . Only school of its kind owned , aided , governed and administered by serving army officers , they are kinda rude . They dont support us going for international studies ,they r just busy preparing boys for that sword of honour by military academy pakistan and winning basketball fixtures against aitchison , coz thats all what matters to them !

BHhazy, My son’s best friend will be attending Virginia Tech. He was also accepted to Penn State, but rejected by A&M. Different universities are looking for different things.

Hey guys. Im currently doing Mechanical engineering from EME NUST. I got a 3.50 cgpa in my first year. Now i want to apply to the US as an international transfer student. Also, id need loads of financial aid if im to go. I havent given the SAT 1 but i did give SAT 2 and got 2300 in it. Also, im a great guitar player and a great singer aswell and I have a few ECs. Do you guys think I have a shot? And if so, which colleges should i apply to if i want admission AND fin aid?

@Asad876 Ooh great. What subjects? And I’m not sure about November but I think I’ll be taking the SAT 1 somewhere between Oct-Jan.
Btw this is random but were you on the UWC forum a few months ago!?

AND THE THREAD IS ALIIIIVE!
Where’s everyone on their standardised testing? I haven’t even begun writing my essays or supplements and I’m sitting for my ACT in September which sucks because this means that I literally haven’t done anything yet…

Also, the atmosphere here isnt what im used to. And i cant study here or do what I feel like. I did alevels from beaconhouse and got straight As

You’re gonna have to apply as a transfer applicant which, I’m sure you know is a lot harder than applying as a freshman and even more so as an international.
Make a commonapp account ASAP and start contacting schools to find out where they accept international transfer applicants.

Well you need a very good SAT score. What do you mean by a 2300 SAT II score? Aren’t those scored on a 800 scale?
And with non-stellar EC’s (from what I understood from your description), you’re gonna have a hard time with financial aid and again, even more so while being an international applicant.

As far as i know , students go to usa as transfer students from uet … so nust is ahead of uet , it shouldnt b so difficult for u to go as transfer student .

@pkteen … Sir u r a RAVIAN , u have got f_ing high marks in fsc , a month for act is kinda enough for u … …
Yes i ve started the prep , got 2 mnths for it , hope i do well on the test !
