Applying for the class of 2018 (College starts fall of 2014)

Yet I have a 710 on my SAT II Bio M :P

I am studying barrons for maths prep , which book i should consider for CR ? I am preparing vocab. from WORD SMART SAT HIT PARADE and DIRECT HITS .

hey everyone!!!
ill be applying like ya’ll for fall 2014…
gave my SAT II - bio and chem 750+… physics was a bit lower but still 700+
ill be giving the ACT in oct :frowning: but ill also be applying ED/EA somewhere, which kinnda scares me coz without knowing my ACT scores i really don’t knw whether that school is a reach for me or not…

^^ Evil twin brother much? Same case here. EXACTLY the same.
ACT in September here though…

oh did i mention im on a gap year as well lol

WHAT? Are you real? Lol
Which school are you from? Where are you applying? Have you started working on essays, etc?

in Dubai…
idk where exactly to apply…coz i pretty much need huge financial aid! huge as in almost 100%
as for essays…nope…but i have an idea on wht i wanna write about so im not really worried…once the ideas flow the essay writes itself lol
i gave the sat in 2011 nov, but didn’t really prepare so this time im thinking about ACT…brought the book yesterday…i like it!!! i hope i get 33+ tho the curve seems impossible!
hbu?

You need to start writing your essay now. Unless you’re a prodigy :smiley:
I hope so too. My ACT is a month from now and I just began prep.
I’m gonna take my first practice test tomorrow so see where I stand. Let’s see…
I need to get a hold of my counsellors for recs. I don’t want to end up not submitting the app on time.
I’m applying Columbia ED btw (I’m allowed to dream, ok!)

hahahahahahahahhaha…im debating between Yale, Stanford and Princeton for ED/EA…how deluded am i AHHAHA
i actually have all the recs in order…just need the essays and act scores and im ready to go :D

Hey
May I ask whats ED/EA ?
Early Decissions, Early Applications ??

and btw what could be some good EC’s that we/I can do this year. i know we dont have much time but still!!

ED = Early Decision
EA = Early Action

With extracurriculars, you can write for us at ideasEvolved if you’re into that kind of stuff…
I’ve already got my hands full with them and another project I’ve been working on.

a good job can always be a good EC …BUT…it has to be the kind of job that teaches u something…like copy writing etc… im also told that admission reps love customer service jobs…apparently it can be a humbling experience for youngsters…

Just submitted my common app essay! Felt awesome… until I looked at the *****load of supplementary essays I need to fill in -_-

i cant help but be a bit jealous of u pkteen lol

i found out that yale and stanford, my first 2 choices, dont want us to use score choice… which sucks coz i dont want to send my SAT reasoning scores to them at any cost. and princeton wants ALL engineering applicants to send SAT maths scores…which i dont have time to give…
but tht being said i have found love again, in duke and possible upenn! hahaha

And I’m not giving my SAT Reasoning. Just the ACT which is why I’m safe but now, I’m not sure if I wanna apply Columbia ED. I’m thinking Harvard or Princeton ED…
ARGH!

r u applying for financial aid?

Not really. Only applying for it at schools with need blind admissions because I’m getting a grant from UNICEF which will cover 70% of my tuition and boarding so I’m not dependant on the aid I get from the universities themselves.

that’s amazing!! opens many doors and give you more choice! choose wisely :)

@pkteen
Can you tell me details regarding ideasEvolved ?
I would love to get in.

Still applying Columbia ED. My love has returned :smiley:
