The thread goes silent!

I’m applying to Columbia ED as well! Have 9 A* 1 A in Olevels, 4 A’s in Alevels and a 2320 in SAT 1, looking to take the subject tests in October. Has anyone started their supplements yet? (please say no so the gnawing self-hate over procrastination inside me could subside a little :)

I still have to take the ACT. Transcript’s the same as yours. All A+'s, a B in Urdu and a C in Islamic Studies (which, I hope doesn’t matter).
Have you looked at the supplement? List this, list that…
I’m done with the commonapp essay and my teachers have submitted recs.
ACT and supplements left.
I. Hate. Supplements.

@NYLannister
Dammn 2320 ?
Thats a real nice score ?
did you get it in first attempt ?

and which city and school you from ?

@pkteen
I emailed you a day ago and yet no response :/

In which of the following i am more likely to get in for mechanical/aerospace engineering
Penn state
Purdue
UIUC
Georgia tech
Wisconsin madison
I dont have any ECs on the app and high school transcripts are good , 1900 expected in sat .
P. S : i know that i may not be able to get into any of these , but i do wanna apply in any 2 of these

@BHhazy, 1900 isn’t the end of the world! And you’re prepping so much! You’ll be fine. Have you started working on your essays yet? Do you have any recommendation yet?
What about your internships? Aren’t those your EC’s?

All I’m concerned about is the ACT. I’ll be done with ACT prep by tomorrow. Minus the workbooks and ACT 36. I’ll start practice tests and the workbooks/ACT 36 from Sep (After watching the iTunes festival :D) and see where I stand. I’m sitting for the Sep 21st ACT. If I don’t do well (I HOPE I DO :scared: ), I’ll register for the Oct one before Sep 27th. I personally think I might be able to manage a decent score but after reading everything on CC, it seems there is something especially hard about the ACT that i’m missing (Am I?) except for the fact that a lot of practice is important.
I just submitted my apps to the following:
Case Western Reserve
Columbia (ED)
Grinnell
Northeastern
Wash U St Louis

14 more to go… A lot of the supplements overlap so I think I’ll be done by early Oct (Because I need to study for the ACT too).

Has anybody else submitted anything yet?

I am applying to 10 usa clgs only. Apart from these i am also applying to TAMUQ and maybe NUS

@EFreak thank you! Yes got it in a single sitting and I’m planning to take SAT 2 Physics & Math in October

@EarlyAction95 I’ve rescheduled my ACT for Oct as well. It was too much work. I have Physics coming up and then I have a couple of jobs that need attention as well…
After reviewing the ACT, I think a 33+ won’t be too hard to manage (hopefully a 34+) don’t you think?

Hi no pkteen this is me. I’m new so I cant PM (at least thats what i’m told when i try…might be wrong)…but yeah i sent you a mail yestrrday…so i cant be the person you were talking of.

anyway… in general…i like my fig leaf of anonymity so i wont be posting my stats just yet…guess i’ll wait for the thread to really get going.

Guys, Suggest some books for CR , writing and maths prep …(separate books for each of the 3 sections )
I am currently using princeton R and barrons for maths, and DH for vocab.

I have about 40 days for sat prep and i badly need 700+ on the maths section and 650+ in cr and writing …

@pkteen…33 is definitely doable. Time is the biggest issue :)

@bhhazy…u r applying to wpi aren’t u? I think u have a good chance of getting in if u play the cards right
I knw someone with similar stats who got a 33k scholarship from them last year…but he didn’t send the SAT scores…if possible use the flex path…

Without sat scores ? O__O
I am also applying to
Uiuc
Uic
Purdue
Tamu
Penn state
Wisconsin madison
Virginia tech
Ohio state
tamuq
and few others , undicided

yup…wpi is sat optional…in the sense that u can either send SAT scores or u can use the flex path and send a project, portfolio etc that you think shows off ur abilities in the absence of SAT scores…
wpi is actually a really god school if u can afford it…they dont meet ur full need and at the most u can get a full tuition scholarship from them…if u do get in, be prepared to pay at least 30k per year…
so if u can afford it…i really recommend it…and it also has an early action plan so do apply if u are interested and make sure they know how interested u are…

Well my father is willing to pay upto 37k for college … thanks for the help

I just finished an ACT practice test. It is definitely a LOT easier than I thought it would be…
Has anybody sent in their app anywhere yet?

Is anyone here applying to any of these colleges for engineering ?
Arizona state
University of pittsburg
U of alabama
U of florida
U of maryland
Iowa state
Texas tech

if anyone is applying , he or she can Inbox me :):)

I’m applying to Pittsburgh for Pre-Med…
