Is this even possible? If so, what are the steps? Thanks!
Why would you want to do that?
It’s definitely possible and people on CC have done it before. However, it is usually recommend that you max out your school’s course offerings. Even then, you should look into other options such as dual-enrollment before you even think about sending in an application as a junior. Even if your stats are as competitive as those of the seniors, you still need to have higher qualifications to compensate for your applying as a junior. Your counselor should know well in advance that you want to do this so that special course scheduling can take place. In the end, IMO you’ll still always have a higher chance of getting into your top choice school as a senior than as a junior.
You have to graduate from high school, so fulfill all graduation requirements a year early. Then I assume you just apply to colleges like normal, but make sure they’re cool with it first.
But really, don’t do that. I don’t know why you’d want to. Senior year is the best year. It’s about having fun too, not rushing through the system to get a job faster.
Thanks
