citygirlsmom - thanks for your advice. so i add all three percentages (vocab, verbal, math) and divide by 3 to get the actual percentage?

well, i got 294 in verbal, 305 in math and 302 in reading. THe average grade in my grade is 305 verbal, 316 math, and 295 reading... comparing, do you think i did well?

NOOOO...if you look at my D's numbers if you averaged all 3 percentages, you don't get 92%...its like that math and reading count for more...do you have the original report? Its almost like the math and reading count for almost twice the vocab, but know that is just a guess....so if you did really well on reading and math, but not so well on vocab, your percentage is still high...but if you did not so great on math or reading, but high on vocab, the percentage could be low....

The vocab section is counted for less....reading and math are more important to the percentile ranking

here it says 31 for verbal, 29 for math, 61 for reading

i don't know why i got so low ,,, strange

the percentiles are low but i am almost as average grade 9 male's score

Not to worry, you will be fine...the verbal was tough...and the reading was really good... you will get into yourschool...

is so good to hear that from you thanks.. but i really want to know my percentiles and my overall percentiles

are those grades the ones that are in the document of SSAT?

I love Rocky Horror Picture Show too! heart

Haha, in my school we taught our class the Time warp!! Everyone looked at us like we were nuts.... little did they know... mwahahaha

swordchic: how did you do on the interviews? ssat? which school do you like most?

the interviews went well...I had the woman (I am awful at names...argh) with the short blonde hair...And she was great. She talked a mile a minute though, just like me, lol... SSAT I got 96% overall...I can't remember the scores before being put together though...And I definitely would choose Thacher over the private day school I'm applying to, but if i don't get accepted then I'll still be fine because the day school is top notch.

For Exeter, the essays were 461 words and 511 words. (Haha, i went to wordcount it)
I basically used the same essays for my other schools, because they give a free topic.
For Exeter, one shows my actual writing skill, and the other shows more of me as a person.
I really found the 1-page word limit thing insane. 3/4 a page per essay which is supposed to really impress them.
And I think SSAT scores are more important than most people think. I mean, I don;t think they're as important as grades or interviews, but still pretty high up.
Does it look bad if you've taken the SSAT multiple times? I only took it once, but I know people who've taken it more than 3 times. Doesn't it look kind of bad to take it a lot of times and the score doesn't really improve?

ras yes, i meant mercersburg.

I geuss it would look bad sorta like the SAT. Did anybody take the SAT in 7th grade? I did and got a 1200 (higher than my older brother) :)

ESA, that's impressive

tara, one shows your writing ken and the other shows your personality? Shouldn't both essays show both?

ESA, that's scarily impressive. A 1200 in 7th (and higher than your brother? WHAT?) is really really good. That's like those scores with the Duke Talent Search and all that Talent stuff.

swordchic: that woman, your interviewer's name is Ms. Mazzola. She was also my interviewer. Lol

Just for fun and to pass the time away while we wait lets list where we applied and our predictions for acceptance or rejection
R.L. (day school- but it has been fun to read this thread and I wish the best for all of you) predicting rejection

goodschoolhopefull: to what schools are you applying to?

Goodschoolhopefully, Roxbury Latin?

That's a great place... why do you think you'll be rejected?
