APs and UC to UC Transfers

Hey all,

I'm a junior in high school, and I'll rack up approx 20 AP tests by the end of senior year, say 13-15 fours and fives. Would I be able to transfer to another UC after only one year, or would I still have to wait two years before transfering?

Thanks!

Why the hell are you going to a CC if you have get 13-14 4s and 5s on AP test?

Yep, I did in one year, same, took every AP test except for like 2, lol.

Edit: BTW, I got into the schools I wanted to get into in high school but due to personal reasons, could not attend and thus transferred. I feel better because it saved moneyyyy, lol.

i think it depends on the UC you decide to go to and the major you select. ap credits vary among the UC’s and depending on your major, you might not get credit for SOME of the ap test you passed. you basically need 90 quarter units. If you take as many ap units as you stated, and take a normal course load at whatever UC, you should definitely be able to transfer.

i went uc riverside after high school and passed 6 AP classes. UCR gave me 32 units for those classes. If you take 20 AP’s you should have no problem reaching 90 units in one year. to be honest though, I think you should try to get into the best college possible out of high school and not worry about transferring.

there are prereqs for specific majors(check assist.org). As long as you finish those and have at leat 90 quarter units, you can transfer.

Thanks guys for all the help, I feel a lot better now. @blackmamba2410, I screwed up the first half of my junior year because of depression/general anxiety disorder, couldn’t get medication/diagnosed by a doctor due to lack of insurance.
