Are 4 AP's to much for Sophomore Year?

I want to take

AP Statistics
AP Gov + Politics (1 semester)
AP Micro Economics (1 semester)
AP Comparative Government

I’m also taking IB Spanish SL I and Honors English and Honors Chemistry. I want to get into a college like Georgetown University.

Thanks in advance!

What math class are you currently taking as a freshman? For sophomore year, take whatever math is next in the normal math sequence. AP stats is an elective.

What history courses do sophomores usually choose from at your school? You have listed three AP social studies courses that are not usually taken by sophomores (at least not at my kids’ school, which requires regular or AP world history).

I’m taking Pre-Calc, but people who want to take IB Math HL junior and senior year usually take AP Stats Sophomore year.

At my school sophomores usually take regular or AP Gov and Econ for social studies, so AP Comparative gov would be an elective. World History is taken freshman year at my school.

Do you have an option to take regular calculus as a preparation for the rigors of IB Math HL?
If the three AP social science APs are common for sophomores then I don’t see a problem (although doubling up is not necessary) however AP stats would likely break the sequence since it’s unrelated to precalculus and calculus.

Dang, I feel like my school is the only one that does U.S. History freshman year [10th- Government 11th- World History]

If you are comfortable with those subjects and are willing to put in the time, then you could try it. Everyone has different limits, so you are the best judge for your situation. My friend takes 4 APs and she gets a 4.12 gpa while still managing to go to sleeps by 9 every night, yet I only take 2 but I stay up until 12 just to get the homework done with a 3.6 gpa (I don’t have any extracurriculars and I don’t procrastinate either). Also make sure you know your school’s policy on AP classes. Many students end up dropping AP classes after seeing all the work, but our school is putting in a new rule next year stating that students will not be allowed to drop out once enrolled. Just make sure to not overwhelm yourself.
