Looking back at all of the schools that I applied to, I totally would have substituted some colleges or added some in. For example, I applied to Dartmouth, but I didn't apply to Middlebury, even though they're generally similar (in more rural areas, smaller, more focus on liberal arts, etc.) In general, I wished I had applied to more LAC's like Middlebury and Amherst (Amherst has some interesting classes from what I hear....)

What about you? Are there any colleges you wished you applied to now, but didn't?

I applied to seven schools and I'm satisfied with that number. I'm very thankful that I didn't apply to more schools.

I applied to Boston College and I really wish I hadn't now. I applied for no reason really and I plan on withdrawing my app. Since I attend a small private school right now, I want a larger enviornment in college, but at the same time, I don't want to have to take too many classes in large lecture halls. I mostly focused on mid-sized schools (5,000-15,000) and I'm glad I did.

Part of me, though, wishes I had applied to at least one small liberal arts college. Instead of BC, I wish I had applied to Macalester. I know I'd fit right in with the student body but I doubt I'd go there just because I don't want to go to a college where everyone's so similar to me. Still, the assurance that I'd be comfortable and happy makes me wish I had applied.

I was accepted to Holy Cross, Notre Dame, and Boston College but did not apply to Georgetown. I wish I had now. I did not have as much awareness of it then as I do know.

before i got into macalester, i wished that i applied to middlebury, swarthmore, beloit, vassar, and whole lot more. now, i've calmed down A LOT, i love mac, not my first choice, but i'd be very happy there.

i was doubting myself, and i shouldn't have. if you made a well researched list at the beginning of the year, i wouldn't worry.

Out of high school I applied to Harvard, Yale, Duke, Brown, Columbia, Northwestern, and Michigan. I got into Columbia, Northwestern, and UM and WL at Brown (and went to Columbia before transferring to Dartmouth). If I could go back in time I would have added Dartmouth, Amherst, Williams, Penn, Georgetown, Pomona, and maybe Middlebury to this list.

Luckily I liked my transfer options (got into Brown, Dartmouth, Duke and WL at Harvard) much more.

punching myself for not applying to barnard. but then again it only offers like 10 majors... but then again its in new york.. but then again it's all girls...but then again its part of columbia....sigh.

i wish i applied to more of waht my GC thought were reaches for me, maybe some bigger schools too: USC, UVA, Georgetown, UNC, Duke, and two schools completely different from the rest, Haverford and Lafayette. but i love BC and quite possibly wouldve picked it anyway so it doesnt really matter

I wish I had applied to UChicago, Brown, Penn, Dartmouth, Cal, UCLA, and UCSD. Maybe UIUC.

This is in addition to the 12 schools I actually did apply to ;) Nevertheless, I am by no means experiencing a "huge" regret...it would've just been nice if I had added more choices to my already varied college list. I always like to have more options--but of course with more colleges comes more work, and I don't think I could've done that many essays in such a limited time, so I think it'll all work itself out.
