Are Video Games Popular In college?

Title says it all

depends on the students really, if the school is easy then yes if its not then there will be some but not all to much.

MIT, Caltech, Cornell-Yes

UVA,Michigan, HYP-No

Depends where you go.

Yes.

Be prepared to get looked heavily down upon if you play them ALL day though.

But what if you have a Xbox 360? Whould you still looked bad upon if you played all day?

Yes.

I'm quite sure the difference in console doesn't make up for the gap in social interaction.

haha, my college...guys worry about the ratio of 70% dudes to 30% women. But I gotta say, when I visited...it was more 50/50, when I asked the tour guide about it she took us to a dorm and knocked on the door. It was all dark and the guy looked like he hadnt seen the light in three days. She simply said "40% are like that"

Aww, come on! I have Oblivion! What else can I do? NOT play it?
lol @ ferstammendment.

lmao......

i think it actually depends WHAT type of games you play. there is a HUGE difference between people who play world of warcraft 24/7 and the people who play basketball or football games.

The people who play sports games or FPS type games are much different from the RPG type players. The first usually play them rarely and only when friend(s) are over. The latter usually sits in their room all day playing them with little social interaction and terrible hygiene.

WHAT?

RPGists without social interaction? O_o

Is this only for the videoRPGists or also folks who are at LARPS (live action)?

I have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

WTH? Where did you get this crap from? One of my WoW guilds ran with a couple players from Harvard and one from Yale.

All my friends at Princeton roll at least one console/PC.

I don't get how people can just make facts up and feel good about themselves in the morning.

I love stereotypes. They make me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.

If only the stereotypes weren't true.

Well, I'll tell you what. You come meet the people I play WoW with, and tell us that we're not "interacting." If anything, WoW has allowed me to interact with my friends in a way I couldn't otherwise. You see, I live thousands of miles away, and WoW is a free way to "hang out" with them in an inexpensive manner.

You know what's funny though? Really "ironic?" (not in the literary sense, per se.) Most of the sports game players I know play them alone.

How's that for social interaction?

Uhhhhhh...you consider playing games online "hanging out" and say you don't have a social interaction problem?

Perhaps my idea of social interaction is a bit different...

Perhaps I value REAL LIFE friends over digital pals...

Maybe I'm crazy.
