“Holier-than-thou” non-drinkers? Lawl, well in any case I knock on a dorm door on a Friday nights and it’s a bunch of people cooped up in a tiny double pre-gaming as me and my “holier-than-thou” non-drinker friends are about to head out.

I don’t know how else to say it but that this is, well, wrong. If anything, the majority of non-drinkers are actually just religious and do tons of community/missionary service…

This is based off your own personal stereotypes, get over it.

How so? Too many cheeseburgers over time will kill you just like too many beers will.

I’m just saying that alcohol isn’t good for you, but you have to balance living a completely sheltered life and having a little bit of fun.

Exactly. Pre-gaming. As in getting ready to go out later.

Nope, it is absolutely true. Greeks are involved in almost every aspect of college life at most universities. Almost all of the philanthropic events, intramural sporting events, 5K runs/races, benefit concerts, etc. at my school are either put on by Greek organizations or are heavily supported by them. You will find this true at most major universities throughout the nation. While some non-drinkers do participate in these events, others remain cooped up in their dorm rooms never fully getting the whole college experience.

Not stereotypes, just observations. I’m not saying that people who don’t drink won’t have fun, I’m saying that those who don’t drink and think that they are better than those that do generally don’t fit in at a lot of colleges.

Lets see…a good majority of people in college drink. A good majority of those that do drink end up becoming very successful after they graduate. So, it is pretty likely.

“Some people choose to abstain from drinking, smoking, and making love to add days to their life. I choose to smoke, drink, and make love to add life to my days”

Nowhere. Do you eat cheeseburgers though? They are at least as bad for you as a beer would be, if not more so.

And that’s not a bad thing. Just don’t come down on those who have fun when they drink as well.

Dorms, apartments, houses, fraternities. Either way its really fun and really social. And I’m not sure what Konnst du lesen means exactly.

Do you go to an ivy? I was really about to put an except the ivy league schools disclaimer in my post. Greeks play a huge role on campus for probably about 85 of the top 100 USNWR schools though, so I’m talking about college in general and not just the ivy league schools.

I don’t need to show anything; people probably see it for themselves as it is.

Well congratulations, but I guess you’re an exception to the rule. Nowhere did I say it would apply in all cases, but likely in most of them.

I agree with you; I’m just trying to show that the vast majority of people who do drink in college end up being successful so there is no reason to judge them. I don’t have a problem with people who choose not to drink, only with the ones who choose not to and then think that they are better than me because of it.

I’m okay with people over 21 drinking, but what about the people under 21? It’s illegal and you know it. Whether you agree with the law or not is irrelevant. If you’re under 21 you’re breaking the rules. Respect the rules.

And my problem is with the way people act when they drink. It’s obnoxious and annoying.
