At the risk of being cliche...chances...?

I didn't realize how vague I was the first time at this, so please forgive that i ask twice..

I'm going to major in chemical engineering or computer sciences...and...white, female

SAT-2100-(retaking, won't accept below 2200)
SAT IIs-chem and math level 2 (projecting at least above 700)

All Honors or AP courses, but also some art courses might look bad as electives. I'm taking two tests asscociated with the classes (calc bc and chem). But I will be studying on my own for stats (i can learn better and more quickly than the class will allow) and my experience with computers should be sufficient for one of the two related tests.

-working on story book with illustrations with my sister 11
-always practicing art 9-12
-published artwork 11
-NHS 10-12
-Key Club 10-12
-organized Winter Coat drive three years in a row 10-12
-Volunteering (50 hrs each year)10-12
-Math Team 11-12
-Programming (C++ and others) (25 hrs a week) 10-12
-Webdesign-scripting and heavily illustrating(20 hrs a week, once I buy my new domain it will be much more time) 9-12
-Challenge Program (50 hrs) 10
-Avdanced art Studio Program (50 hrs) 10 (the program was dicontinued)
-Work at a computer store (16 hrs a week during the winters) 11 (maybe 12 too)
-Tutoring in math and Science
-i'll send in a portfolio too

Although it's fun to help people, I like to spend my time working by myself, I have a passion for learning, art, and math. I try to find ways to combine math and art by webdesign and programming. Hopefully I will be able to do so more as I continue to study C++.

chances for....

RPI
WPI
Brown
Tufts
Umass amherst

oh....

13/603
with a 4.1 W GPA
maybe it's a 3.8 unweighted (group finals bring you down when you have to work with seniors who blow off the projects for you)

...please...

Ok
Considering u get a 2200 and have good recs/essays

RPI-safety

Tufts- Low reach
Umass amherst- safety

Chance me

kk thanx

brown = low ivy but you never know?

Thankyou, so much.

Brown is low ivy...aww, but I love brown.

i say you should apply to any school you are interrested in do not care if someone says oh you didn't get a 2200+ on your SAT so your not going to make it. But you do have a very good chance at brown.

Thanks, I really want to go there. Yeah, on the brown ED amissions board I saw people with as low as 2010 being accepted without being an URM. It yet gave me hope and I really love Brown. Then I see a 2350 URM with two 750 SATIIs being rejected...Nevertheless, I will definitely apply to where I want.

I would suggest Columbia to you. You might be interested and should check it out.

This year we have 1 kid going to Brown and 2 going to Columbia.

I'll research columbia more so, it intrigues me.
Well, smart kids...what school do you attend?

how do you have time for all that stuff?
25hours/week. 20hours/week. 16hours/week. do u sleep?

token89 just take a shot of red bull and your good to go lol.

if "Well, smart kids...what school do you attend?" refers to me I am going to be a junior next year in high school and I plan to apply to HYP. Harvard is my top choice.

I only do 16 hr work during one winter maybe next year to...
And during the summer is when i have my webdesign and programming hrs to their fullest. I go to sleep at one o'clock and wake up at 8 during the summer to get it all done ontop of my artwork time and AIM time....quite literally....

smartafgkid
Do you go to school in the US, and if so what state?
DOn't feel obligated to answer, but is does your school have very high standards?

you're crazy man. i play sports 18hours/week and that takes up ALOT of time. i don't know maybe i'm an exception. chance me?

Yes I go to school in the United States. I go to school in Guilford, Connecticut in Guilford High School. My school actually doesn't really have high standards. Although we have had 2 kids go to Harvard in the 2006 and 2005. We are pretty much self motivated like I am.

Hmmm... self motivation definitely wins over a good school, that's what I've seen from the ED result boards. I go to an average school in NH where the block scheduling severely limits you on APs if you ever want to graduate with the requirements. Brown has almost no requirements-which is why I like it.

Actually, my school's studemts on average probably score 1400-1500 on the SAT. I'm curious to know how are the student's scores in Guilford?

I predict for me I will get a 2200+ with my tutoring. I know we had a 2290 and a couple others but not much. Usually a 1400-1800 range.
