I just saw this on UCLA admissions webpage:

"To be considered for admission, applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA at the time of application. There are seven lower division courses total; AT LEAST FOUR OF WHICH SHOULD BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOU APPLY".

I had no idea! I have 3 prereqs completed, but would have taken a summer class easily if I had known. Right now I'm completing another 2 prereqs, but it doesn't seem as if that would count since they have to be COMPLETED by the time we apply. I thought they could be completed by spring prior to transfer.

assist.org is not even updated on this! I usually check assist for any changes.

Anyone else who has to reconsider major?! Or wait a year??

so which part is new? i’m pretty sure it was always like that. i read it in the summer and it said the same thing about how u have to finish 4 by the time u apply. do we have to take all 7 before we transfer though? even though our school does not offer the classes?

I just always check assist.org and it doesn’t say anything about the 4 prerequisites that need to be completed by the time you apply. None of my counselors have told me this either.

:(

But yeah, definitely need to finish up all of them by spring to be competitive! But if your college doesn’t offer, try to enroll in classes at a nearby college or just don’t take them at all. From what I understood they’re not going to “punish you” just because your college didn’t offer certain classes.

What part is new? They need to update it to say “To be considered for admission, applicants must have a minimum 3.9 GPA at the time of application.”
