Yeah! Accepted 10/13 and packet is postmarked 10/26, which is ironically the exact day we were in Auburn doing a campus tour! We could have picked it up while we were there! The magnet was a cool item in the packet, right!?

We noticed that Auburn doesn’t send much email to your personal account once you’re in. You need to log in to the portal and check his Auburn email account. Lots of stuff was there once we finally checked that.

Has anyone OOS admitted in the first cycle (October) gotten any scholarship notification information (in their auburn portal email ?)

My son was accepted on October 13. Received Auburn email on November 15 notifying him about presidential scholarship.

My son was admitted November round, and received scholarship offer a day or two later. Received honors college email today.

If you are OOS, they awarded MERIT scholarships from the highest level down to Academic Charter so far. Next round this month. Auburn required all scores from ACT, not just the superscore report. That delayed some acceptances from getting an award until all tests making up the superscore were received. If you are sending scores, you have until January but the sooner the better. I believe awards below Academic Charter should also start hearing this month.

I think more of the “hook” applicants were accepted

My daughter went for a campus tour yesterday. I thought I would share what her tour group was told by one of the admissions counselors. Last year Auburn received around 20k applications. This year they have received over 40k applications. In the last round of acceptances, only 5% of test optional applicants were granted admittance. She strongly encouraged the group to submit test scores, if they hadn’t already applied. Even if their scores fell below the typical middle 50% range.

She also mentioned they like to keep their enrollment numbers at 60% in state, and 40% out of state. Currently their enrollment numbers are around 56% in state, and 44% out of state. They will be trying to get their numbers back in line with the current applicant pool.

Wow! I wonder what prompted more Seniors to apply this year and why in just one year would the amount of applicants DOUBLE!? Maybe this class is just trying to have lots of options to consider and are applying to more schools?

I expected with test optional being offered again this year that applications would be up, but I was surprised that it doubled. I agree with you that it seems students in this application cycle are applying to more schools than usual.

Is anyone willing to share info on their student’s merit award offers? I was pretty surprised by the recent chart that was released and the very high GPA and ACT “averages” for merit awards (particularly in state).
If I understand correctly, they only look at GPA and ACT to qualify for scholarships, but do they look at the “complete package” for admissions?
Thanks!

My son got the Academic Charter scholarship (OOS) for 11k. 1330 SAT, 4.14gpq.

DS is OOS, , 1330 SAT/4.32 GPA, received the Academic Charter Scholarship

I would add to that as well…. finding schools/states that don’t threaten shutdowns/ return to virtual/ have reasonable metrics for any mandates such as masking.

My son received the Academic Presidential Scholarship ($16,500) with a 4.451 GPA and 35 ACT.

I don’t see an Academic Presidential Scholarship for $16,500. Typo?
The amount on the website shows $10,500. My two who applied (triplets) received it.
It’s automatic if you fall within the guidelines of over 3.5 GPA and 33-36 ACT.
