Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

They will have to consider space for housing and class sizes. Read this article that explains how some residence halls are being demolished (too old) and renovated. I’m not sure but I wonder if they will consider that when accepting students this year. You can always call the Admissions Office and ask and see what they reveal!

Wow. For a university that already doesn’t guarantee on campus housing for freshmen, this is something to consider.

I’m no expert on Auburn, but I THINK they recently added 160 Ross to their Residence Hall options, which used to be an apartment complex that they renovated, and is right at the edge of campus. So there are more room options now since they will be demolishing The Hill.

If it is like most state schools, my expectation is it yields very differently in state versus out of state. My guess is that most of the application growth is from out of state, which generally yields much lower.

Anyone know when Honor college decisions are released? Thanks

Glad you asked this…we’ve been wondering too!

At admitted students day admissions said that they are not looking to grow. They are looking for a freshman class of about 4800. Said last year they had 5300 but will not go that high this year. No idea how many more they will accept. Also, I’m not sure if the 9600 accepted already comprised all three early action rounds or just the first two.

They had a release of both admitted students and existing students who applied late in the Fall in December. I have no idea if they are accepting additional students, so I would call the Honors college.

Ok thanks. My son applied to AU mid-October. Accepted November. Applied honors 12/1. Their reply said acceptances would be sent February. Not 100% sure he wants to do it anyway, but we’ll see…

We toured the Honors College recently and my daughter is definitely doing it if she chooses Auburn. In the case of Auburn, it is like a private small college within a mid-sized university. They get the smaller core classes, first choice (except for Athletes) on Schedule, class selection and Professors. They get preferred selection for on-campus dorms and some nice extracurricular options. You have to maintain the same GPA for honors as for your OOS scholarship. Lastly, in my daughter’s case, as an Engineering major she will have met her Honors class requirement by the time she finishes her Sophomore year. Yet, she could do some Honors research in upper division if that interests her. It’s a no brainer to start out in Honors as a Freshman.

So your daughter has already received an honors college acceptance notification? Several of us on here are trying to find out if honors college notifications have been sent? Just wondering because I saw this:

“my daughter is definitely doing it if she chooses Auburn.”

Thanks!

My daughter was accepted (applied by the 1/7/22 deadline). No email. Logged into her Honors application today & saw that she needs to accept the offer to be part of the Honors College. Have heard they send a letter but no letter has arrived here yet.

Yes, received the notification in December

Congrats to your daughter! We also toured the HC and were very impressed with what it has to offer. The small class feeling at a big university and priority registration are big perks, and my daughter likes the idea of Honors housing and roommates.

Just curious…do you remember the deadline for the first round of applications?

From what I can tell there were two dates for Honors Apps, early apply on December 3rd and regular on January 7th. She was accepted to Auburn in early November and applied before the 12/3 date and received honors college acceptance on December 17th.

Does anyone know what day last year Auburn released their regular decisions? Can’t seem to find that in old threads. Thanks

I could be wrong, but I believe it was the end of January, as they didn’t have an early action option last year.

In the Auburn 2025 thread it appears the last acceptances came out on March 15th.

Thank you!

I know you asked about last year, but on our tour this year, they had a slide that said “Early March” for decision release for regular. The early app dates are “mid” month, and they seem to be pretty spot on with that. Hopefully that means before March 15 this year! Good luck!
